911 Decklid and Carrera Tail Install on 964
I'm buying a decklid and carrera tail from a 3.2 car to mount on my 964. From my research, I have found that the decklids are the same, but an adapter is required to accomodate the hinge differences between models. My questions are as follows for those who have been down this road:
1) Where did you source your hinge adapters if not homemade?
2) How did you handle the spoiler warning light after removing the original decklid with automatic spoiler?
3) Any difference in downforce, engine cooling, etc.?
Thanks,
Lee

I did the same thing. I installed an early model turbo wing on my 964. I bought my hinge adaptors here.

For the warning light, you have to install a jumper wire. Go here for more info.

Hope this helps.

I have an RSA decklid and spoiler which is nearly identical to the carrera deck lid.
You will need to make or buy the brackets. Easy enough to do with aluminum angle for $9 from HD. here is a picture of the bracket I made for my track build you might use slightly heavier gauge for the Carrera tail it is quite heavy IIRC it weighs 6 pounds more than the motorized lid/tail combo. You will need spacers as shown and depending on MY you will have to drill the bracket for the bolts.
On the street it does nothing on the track I noticed considerable improvement at speeds above 125MPH.

Still have my tail, just too many other projects to do before cosmetic upgrades!
With regard to weight, am I better off buying an aftermarket RSA replica? I like the OEM tail, but if it adds a bunch of weight at the rear of the car I'm not too crazy about it. If someone makes a nice quality lightweight RSA replica tail I might consider it.
Anyone have some good suggestions?
