Started with a G-pipe many years ago, it sounded better than stock. Got a Fabspeed dual outlet 6 or 7 years ago and love the sound. I added a restrictor to the driver's side exhaust for DD, set @ 75% closed. This eliminates any droan and keeps it from being too loud. (I open up both exhausts for the track). The sound makes 60's muscle cars, and trash can ricer exhausts run in shame.
Love the pitch change when it hits 5300 to red line!

Just a little clarification; I'm a newbie here. The diagram posted on the previous page identifies the center muffler as the intermediate and the side one as the final. I'm hearing primary and secondary hear and guessing the center is the primary? Marty at mGm racing recommended starting off by removing the side muffler (final) and go from there. Huge difference in sound. Simply amazing. Not sure about any other effects. Sill try that for a while.

The race shop that services my car adviced to take the primary muffler out and replace it with a cup pipe.
I currently have the long g pipe with a cat bypass and don't like the sound.
For me it's a bit too V8 / bassy.
It also takes away the typical aircooled sound.
For the best sound performance he adviced the combo :
Cat bypass + Cup pipe + K&N filter with Cup airbox

Got it! Not sure why but I thought someone told me the side muffler (secondary now that I know which is which) was heavier. Below is what I did. I'll try a few different setups I'm sure. This made a huge difference in sound. Much deeper.

Nice. So far I have only done 200 miles on the car in stock form. Was hoping to get the car back today but more likely Monday. Then I only have a week in the car before I'm out of town until mid August. Pissed!

At least it's gonna be a good week! My car is currently on stands.
Question, is this heat shield needed? Well, if you have no secondary pipe or g pipe and a cat bypass. I want to remove mine.

You may need it with that g pipe or secondary bypass you're running.
I don't have a bypass, that's why I was thinking it's not needed. I've a seen a few images of them removed. Just kinda curious.
