I'm sure they are insured as well. It should take some time, but as long as someone covers it, you get free new wiring!

I was reading up on the topic here. Recently there was a 997 "totalled" because of this. Meaning it costs more to fix the wiring than the car is worth.

Same thing happened to my dad with a 7 series BMW.
Who would have thought wiring was that expensive...

Easy Steve, I had a Banner battery, posts were switched from normal, so I would have to manoeuvre the leads a touch....if you swing the battery they line up, but polarity reversed....

They were trying to avoid an insurance claim, that's for sure. Who can blame them? I just hope once they realize how much this is going to cost and a claim is warranted, it doesn't hold up getting my car back. Insurance companies very often drag their feet.

Radio is likely just the fuse on the backside of the radio.

Okay, got the car back yesterday and good news. It was all inline fuses that were fried not components. 415 bucks and Advance paid for it all over the phone with a credit card. They didn't even ask to see the invoice first. Funny thing is, I got in the car yesterday afternoon and it almost wouldn't start again! That's why I got the battery in the first place! I guess I have a different problem.
