H5 Cree bulbs
I ordered the new 9400 Cree bulbs a few days ago. Supposedly a plug and play for the h5 headlights. I'll post once the bulbs come in from the UK.

Rennlistuser8, I was wondering why you kept on asking your questions but after reading a topic on Pelican I now understand why.

Me and a friend bought the the units from Woodypeck. The amount of light it produces is significantly more than the Philips extreme visions that was in the units before.
BUT
Today my friend took his car for the Dutch yearly roadworthy check and it failed on the headlights. The light patern produced is incorrect. The bulbs had to come out and the Philips extreme vision had to go back in.

Curious now if this is proven incorrect? Or does the Netherlands have stricter policies then?

Yeah, but what's your location? Where I live there are no inspections at all, and the crap people drive around here is mindboggling sometimes.
It's not like that in Europe; you have to toe the line or they'll pull your ability to drive the car. It's legit for people subject to such scrutiny to want to know if a product is homologated.
To be clear, I'm not saying don't use the product or that it's bad or even that the laws are correct (spent 13 years as a European certification engineer; just 'cause it's the law doesn't mean it's optimized...) but don't bag on someone for wanting to know if it'll pass inspection.
(Hint: Probably not.)

I have a set of these en route to my non-**** jurisdiction so I can't imagine I have any problems, but the issue certainly hasn't been put to bed for the euro folks.

Seriously people...
Edited. The seller has already released the mods against me once, so I will only say that I would love to see any official document from any european country that certifies these bulbs as homologated.
I tried to buy a set to bring and have inspected in Switzerland, but the seller refused my order an refunded me.

You will net get a fine for running these lights in the Netherlands, but you will fail the MOT. The way it works here is that your local mechanic, if certified, can carry out the MOT. MOT is a realtime test, so once the mechanic has given the car the OK, he will get one of two messages:
1) The car can be released to the owner
2) Keep the car there and wait for the inspector
Message number 2 will pop up on ±30% of all cars and these cars will undergo a stringent retest by an inspector from the government. If the inspector does not agree with the mechanic they can lose their certification and as a result business. This ensures that the mechanics do not take any chances with the MOT.
But what is said about headlights in the MOT?
Roughly translated from Dutch
Headlights should at the time of the MOT test work properly. The MOT test requirement is working sidelights, dipped and main beam in both lamps. Colour of the lights shall be white or yellow. When the MOT is done it is also measured if the height level of the lights is correct. If this level can be adjusted from inside the car this function must be working. Another requirement of the MOT is that left and right lamp to give equal illumination.
So why did it fail?
Because they headlights could not be focused.
Before fitting the LED untis, we had the lights focused using the standard bulbs at the local garage. We did this because we wanted "Perfect" lights. After this we installed the LEDs. The first time we tested the ligths at night we noticed that the light had quite a large spread. Visibility was excellent though.
So when it was time for the MOT the mechanic noticed the spread of the light as well and said the lights need to be focussed. Strange since they were focused only a couple of weeks ago. He then used the tool commonly used to focus headlights:
Inside this unit there is an image pattern for mains and dipped beam
This is why the units failed. The mechanic was unable to get the patterns to match.
So if you live in an area where this is not a legal requirement I can highly recommend these LED units. They really are night and day compared to normal bulbs. But in order to pass Dutch and possibly other MOT requirements they require more development.

Yes, the Porsche Specialist that did the MOT tried to focus the LED's, but was unable to do so. And he really knows his stuff, so it is not like he doesn't know how to adjust 911 headlights.

Ok, sort of a de-rail.
Nothing I have looks like either the installation instructions or the videos:
And I can't put them in currently. H4 vs H5 issue?
Also Mooty!
