Gents,

just catching up. thanks guys for all the positive comments. appreciated it!!

for the love of those cars, i don't want to pick a side to judge who's better or not. but instead, it is a great canvas for the artists to create what they like & the results are just simply different but all wonderful. at the end of the day i picked what suits me & my personality better. if you pay attention to what the announcer Simon said in the begging of the press release, that pretty much summed up why i ended up with the car. i didn't want something that's visually striking to people that don't know about our cars. i like to be blend in. i like something that's period correct. i love Porsche but don't like their newest product. i love RUF because of the heritage. i love the RUF family more because you can not get the personal touch with other companies. in conclusion, it is more than just a car. i love it more than you can see. the journey is priceless.

and yes, it all started when i was offered the key to Alois' personal RCT. don't do it if u're not ready. it's a good advice. here are some pics in 2013. cruising in Germany following Alois in his ''special'' 356 & a crazy RT12R (did i say it's crazy... fast). u get the story

425hp. good enough for me. balance is always key in my book. one thing to note, German horses are bigger.

Been there Done that and got the T shirt. It was May 2012..............
Drove Alois 964 RCT, fatal mistake, I just had to Have one.
Your build looks immense, your going to love it, they are absolutely fabulous.
Thought it was great on opening day of the Geneva Show, Twitter was awash with the motoring press going crazy about a 25year old 964. :-)

Can I ask, have you had it built like Alois own car with 4 wheel drive or did you go the 2 wheel drive route??

2 wheel drive. i don't need 4WD here. i have multiple cars being built there. perhaps one of them will be 4WD. we will see.

funny about the press & audience. Alois' RCT was on display @ Geneva 2013. they just don't talk about it nor make much noise. it's not something new that they're doing. press probably treated like they just got into this hype.

Mines is 2wd also, and I just love it. The RCT is such a great alrounder
Firm yet compliant on the roads, and nice and slim and narrow for threading down some of the great roads I have on my doorstep in Scotland :-)
Would loved to have done a build package like yours, I drove Alois car in May 12, at the time it was complete except for the front seats, which didn't match the interior as he was trying to decide which seats to fit. I asked if he would think of selling, but he wasn't for letting it go.
I then searched worldwide and found my car in New Mexico in late 2012, finally getting it home to Scotland early 2013........
Mines was built in 1998/99 for its original owner, known as Dr Joe, a friend of Alois who was originally based in Germany in 80/90s but relocated back to California.
The only thing I don't have in my 964RCT is an integrated cage, it's the one thing I would loved to have been in it. My 996 RGT has one fitted and they are a work of art the way Alois gets them to flow with the car, making them nearly unnoticeable.
Ps sorry but I have to ask, what else are you having built ? Please tell

From discussions with a RUF representative the RCT related engine, gearbox, suspension and brake system seems to cost somewhere in the region of EUR100k or so. The bodywork which involves completely stripping the car, installing the integrated roll cage, removing the rain gutters, redoing the interior, etc... costs somewhere in the region of EUR100k as well. It is also dependent upon the condition of the delivered car.

Alois Ruf talking and Hans Peter Porsche talking about how great 964s are athe the 2015 Geneva Auto Show
(Facebook GTBoards)

"Mr. Porsche. Do you see the integrated roll cage?, " says Mr. Ruf.

"I've also deleted the rain gutters..."

"Now let me tell you about the impressive engine and suspension changes too..."

"What is the cost of this beautiful 964 Herr Ruf?" asks Hans Peter Porsche (or Wolfgang??)

"How much?"

"OK, the Porsche family wants to buy four! We miss driving 964s!"
