*Extremely* carefully washed off the coating of alluminium dust and swarf from the car before giving it a good coat of RaceGlaze. Phew - no marks.
I then removed the engine loom from the car

Default Not today... but Valentine's Day

32 guys and 2 gals decided to show what was their top priority on Valentine's Day. PCA Longhorn (San Antonio, TX) crammed in a much needed autocross event.

I got a kitchen pass and learned some simple math:

Rusty skills + old front tires + skewed alignment + stock C4 = slowest of 3 964s! The others were C2s but one was a cab... Ok, no excuses.

Regardless, I had a blast! Oh yeah, my wife and I did other things that night too.

I stood by the garage and watched it for a while. It has been around four weeks since it last saw sunshine. This northeast winter is taking its toll.

If it makes you feel any better, snowpack out west is 10-20% of normal. Bleak, in a different way. There should be feet of snow where I drove today around Mt St Helens. Nothing but dry pavement. Made for a fun drive until my toddler puked in the car.

Spent the rest of the day cleaning--seats out.

I split my case

This long weekend, I...
1)Rebuilt the pedal cluster (replaced clutch roll pin, replaced clutch pedal bushings, general clean up and lube). This came after replacing the clutch slave cylinder, flex hose, and bleeding the system. Now, the clutch is buttery smooth.
2)Replaced the passenger side sill cover plastic clips and grommets, as two of those are broken.
3)Replaced the passenger side sill cover rubber strip. The old one suffers from rigamortis.

Installed my reinforcement kit to stop the drivers side door creak. Have to say the folks at Pelican were supremely unhelpful. Their kit didn't fit my door (maybe it was modified prior to my ownership) and I described the problem to them. 2 days later I get a response: Would you like to buy kit XXX-XXX-XXX p/n for $35?

Dr. Mitch helped me out and it's a lot better now. I'm using just one side of the reinforcement kit and large washers on the other side.

I also installed my appbiz leather RS door card. Bob, from Appbiz was the exact opposite of Pelican; he was super helpful when my jacknuts weren't working correctly.

Removed the oil breather cap, removed and cleaned the intakes to clean and replace the gaskets. Re-seal is progressing nicely.

Default Kissed my baby goodbye

Well, dropped her off at Rothsport for a sojourn. Hope to be reunited in a couple weeks.

Put the recently plasti-dipped BBS wheels back on. Trying out a slightly different color scheme with a vintage gold color. Center caps need to go on after I paint the crest.

I think I was a little to zealous washing the salt off my car. The engine is clean again, but it wasn't too happy after the car wash.... (once it dried-out, all was good again)

Sounds like I have RSR cams!

What do they say about washing your car?? Bad luck, I woke up to more snow today...

Got some winter project work done today. New wheel studs and on with the "Big Reds".

I was happy to see my Artec 17 inch wheels clear the big brakes.

My son and I went for a drive and ended up following a road legal wooden garden shed

We had a great chat with the Owner and builder, it was built around a 32V V8 engined VW Passat estate

He has built it to set a new Guinness World Record for the worlds fastest garden shed currently now standing at 58mph. He had Made a fede small aerodynamic mods and has l'area day done over 70mph

His neighbour then joined in our conversation and we had a look at his 32 Chevy big blocked engined hot rod

What was really cool was this happened in rural Oxfordshire, England
