Time to do something about these seats. The leather is like cardboard, worn through in a few areas, seams are coming apart and the centers are faded.
My wife didn't think they were so bad, but she assumed the centers were supposed to be purple.
Wait a minute. Does this mean they are 944 seats?
With 928 seatbelts?
I guess that would explain the contact with the center tunnel.
After assessing the situation, I've come up with a few ideas to eliminate any further carpet damage. Bolts with shorter heads and readjust the offsets on the seat bracket to bring it in a bit tighter to the seat should do the trick.
It took about a year to figure out exactly what I wanted for these seats, then two months to find the material. Uberkaro Schwartz cloth from a 1990 BMW E30. I found 5 yards in Russia! I'll be redoing them in the same configuration, cloth centers, leather on the rest of the seat.
Then, with the remaining cloth and leather, I will have enough for a few other projects around the car.

Very happy how these have turned out!
The leather should relax and smooth out a few of the wrinkles in this summer.
My upholstery guy decided to move the factory pleat locations slightly and follow the lines of the pattern.
Laser accurate seams. I picked the right guy!
Very happy with the final product.

That is absolutely some of the prettiest seats that I have seen. The craftsmanship from what I can tell would compare to anyone else's. I can sense your pride. I am like you... I love it when a vision becomes reality and the results are even better than envisioned. I once did a kitchen remodel +$30K that no one else could visualize, but after I was done, company would rather spend time in the kitchen than the living room. With these seats, your going to have a hard time coming in after a ride and going to bed... Your going to need some plastic seat covers to keep the drool stains to a minimum!

Remarkable job with the seats, excellent choice in fabric and stitching. Are you doing the rears as well, or going with a rear seat delete? Also... which shop did the excellent job with the upholstery?

The interior is a slow process, but I've pulled the rear seats and am looking to make a storage bin in the not too distant future.
As soon as I have some time this spring I will be starting on some RS door cards, partially integrating the fabric into those in some way as well.
I found this upholstery guy through a friend who had his seats done through him. I was blown away by the quality. He commissions some work like this from time to time. His day job is doing coachwork for high caliber cars and when customers go to Mercedes or BMW with requests that aren't offered through OEM.

That feeling when you finally replace a pitted windshield. This is the best mod I've done yet
It's been quite a while since I've updated, so here's a few things I've done lately
H&R deep coilovers. Swapping out suspension is all too easy in these cars. They have settled a little bit low right now as there is a little rubbing happening at near lock when I'm not on level ground. Otherwise, I'm very happy with this suspension.
I finally decided to pull the vintage audio from the car and install the much loved Continental TR7412UB-OR that I ordered from BergvilleFX. While it's not an audiophile setup, it gets the job done for me. Also, surprisingly I can use the front face microphone for bluetooth phone calls as long as I'm not on the loud pedal too much
I took the opportunity to make the chrome ring match the interior a little better with some plasti-dip. The **** comes straight off with a firm pull and disassembles easily with a single screw. Perfect!
A little double sided tape on a bit of cardboard and we're ready to coat it. I've used plasti-dip on some interior components of a commuter car I had in the past and learned that the plasti-dip primer is a must if you want this to last.
Reassemble and you're good to go!
So much better

I put the same radio in about a month ago. I normally prefer not to talk while driving, even hands free, so I usually opt to return calls later if driving, but I took one a few days ago doing about 40 mph with the top off and my mom said she could hear me just fine. I was pretty floored.
