Here are 2 that my guy had made last year. He sent me a brushed version to try out. He had it left over from his last run. I wanted a black one, so i took it to a local shop to hard anodize it. Should get it back today.

I have this insert on my stock shifter and love it. Couldn't this be used for this?

I've been chasing down a Singer styled shifter for my C4 also.
Unless catastrophic prices, I am in with shipping to Australia.

Would prefer the full kit also with the shaft.

Any ideas were a rubber boot could be sourced from?

How do you fit that?
Does the insert come out when you remove the boot and **** from the gear stick?

Are you happy with the look using your leather shift boot?
Or does it look too scrunched at the bottom? Your photo looks good, I could live with that in lieu of a good looking rubber boot.

Leather boot looks good. I still prefer the rubber boot look personally. Stumped on how to make it work. Ideas?

I was thinking about this as i drove to work this morning while sitting at the lights, I'm not sure if this will work but...

What about a second OEM rubber boot on top of existing (hidden) rubber boot?
You could cut it to size if required.
A small tray may still be required to make up the space outside but potentially not, depending how big the that rubber boot is at the bottom.

Thoughts?

Also, did I read correctly in the other thread that your guy can't produce the ***** for some time?

That's what I had in mind as well, either a second OEM boot or one slightly bigger. The extra OEM would be the ticket if a tray similar to the Singer one can be made. A larger boot from another vehicle could be used in place of the leather boot if no tray can be sourced, but I am not sure that a larger rubber boot would look right in the space.

Looking at these 3 pictures, I don't think we could get a second boot to fill the gap without a tray.

I've also been scouring the internet for other rubber boots that might fit, no luck thus far.
I think the best bet is to try and get a tray/cup fabricated like the Singer to fill the gap of second OEM boot sitting on top of the factory boot.

Yes Alex the BFI one does look good ...
But what's it weigh? How did they make it 'heavy'?

I am selling one of my prototype shift *****. I am trying all kinds of different *****, gaitors, boots, etc. This is Billet Aluminum with correct shift pattern. Nice weight to it. It has been hard anodized to give it a nice black appearance. Attaches with set screws.

$70 shipped to conus.

I don't have a food scale. I think i was quoted 13oz by the manufacturer. I can take it to work tomorrow and weigh it at the hospital on the baby scale.
