tire question
I've purchased a set of 17" MM Cup 1 replica wheels from a fellow Rennlister in New Jersey. The previous owner is shipping them to me with winter tires on them. Obviously I won't need winter tires in sunny Florida so my question is, what's the best tire for these wheels. There will be no track use. This is my daily driver so I want as smooth a ride as possible. Thanks in advance.
BTW I love these wheels.

Lots of answers here if you use <search>
I use the Conti DWS
You don't mention if you have a C2 or C4... if C4, you'll want to be careful to use an approved set of sizes F + R otherwise you may have issues.

Yes, there was a recent thread about tires. I'm running Michelin Pilot Sports on both of mine. They are quiet and long lasting.
+1 - Be sure to get the right sizes. The factory sizes for 17" are 205/55x17 on the front and 255/40x17 on the rears.

Three Wheelin'
Just put the MM cups on mine. They look just right !
Love my Continental extreme contact DW tires. All that you need for street driving. Quiet and smooth while grippy in wet or dry.
Also much better price than the Michelins.

Race Car
If it's Florida, and you don't track the car, will it ever need to be fast in a corner? If you don't need to go a tenth faster on a closed course, and 99% of the driving is straight line (my experience w Florida...so if it's curvy where you are, don't take it the wrong way), then go w the conti tires. They are inexpensive and quiet. Quiet being key. For a bit better performance, but marginal, Michelin pilot super sport.
Just my two cents.

I am considering the DWs for the 964 at my tire change next year but I saw a 964 with Conti DW but they were on D90 Wheels and they looked like they had a rounded profile of the side wall.
My current tires are Potenzas and they have a nice square profile. Can anyone take a pic of their Conti DWs on 17 so I can see what it looks like before I purchase a set?
See pics below to see what my current tires look like and what I mean by round profile. Thanks

I've had Continental's before on a Boxster and they were hard and just crap. I know it's a different car but I went from Conti's to Michelin's on that car and it made a world of difference. Experience is hard to set aside.

You're so right. I always have used them and priced the Conti DW's with them yesterday. They were 10 bucks more than Tire Rack before shipping. Looks like I'm going with the Conti's but I sure would like to know if anyone is running on Hankooks.
