Took the plunge...and wanted to introduce myself.
I just wanted to introduce myself and say hi, as I've recently joined the 964 family, and finally fulfilled the air-cooled dream.
I'll be completely honest, the 964 was never my favorite 911 (I grew up lusting after the 3.2s and 993s)...but over the last few years, something switched as this generation has started looking better and better to me. So when a really solid example became available locally for I think a relatively low price, I just couldn't help but pounce.
I only got her last week, and we're still getting to know each other, but so far it's been a great time. She's joining a younger cousin in the garage. Hopefully no cat fights!
Funnily enough, not 15 minutes after I picked her up from the buyer, I stopped for some gas, and a couple of minutes later a guy in a 997 stopped by to chat. Turns out he was a local Rennlister.
Driving compared to the Cayman has been interesting. They Cayman is by far one of, if not the best, handling cars Ive ever driven, so the 964 feels a little squirrely in comparison. With the Cayman, pretty much any corner is a breeze to navigate...with the 964, it's going to be a little bit more of a learning curve...but one Im hoping will be rewarding!
I'm by no means as mechanically inclined as most here (my passion for the company comes more from a Design and History angle), but I look forward to being able to tinker a bit with the 964...something that's pretty hard to do with the Cayman considering where the engine is. The rear tail lights are cracked/faded, and need to be replaced, so I'm thinking that will be the first thing to rectify.

Guards Red is a great color for the Fall.

Welcome to 964 ownership... they are fun to own and drive. I do think you'll spend some time on the mechanical aspect of the car...
She looks great and the location seems breathtaking... something I dream of.
Best of luck and enjoy the ride... literally!

Nice car, congrats!
From the picture, Cayman looks bigger & wider, is that so in real life? How about the cabin, which one is more spacious (disregard the 964 backseat)?
