Default Drive 964 C4 this winter or not?

Back when these cars were selling for low to mid teens, the thought of slapping a set of blizzaks on a C4 for winter was very appealing.

Now that prices and demand have skyrocketed, the thought of putting my (new to me) '91 C4 through a midwest winter makes me cringe.

With winter quickly approaching, my choices right now are:

a) Drive my 964, enjoy it, and hope for the best.
b) Put the 964 in storage, buy winter tires for my 944, drive that.
c) Put both the 964/944 into storage and grab a cheap old Audi A4.

I've always had a winter car, but am down to the 2 Porsches at the moment. Any thoughts?

I'll be using mine through the winter. It's why I bougt a C4. Will just be taking my BBS off so they don't corrode.

I'll be using mine less but will have the snows on and will be using it. In the spring it'll be on jack stands again and I'll take care of anything I can find. It's not a museum piece...it's a driver.

Slap on some winter rubber and drive it. That's what I'll be doing with mine. Sure, the values have gone up but not that much. It's a car. Get some enjoyment out of it.

I only drive my (c2) on the dry winter days with limited dry white salt residue on the roads. If you want a good deal on a 2010 A4 6 speed manual Quattro w 59k miles let am know. My GF got a company car and doesn't use it. Nice car.

Hey, I live in Wisconsin, and we do not have a wimp's winter! Of course I drive it in the winter! Have spare wheels with snows on 'em, too!

Of course I now have it garaged to keep me from putting so many miles on it (a VW R32 is my go-to-the-store car now), but it still gets out frequently ... and in the snow.

Here in Vancouver when ever we have freezing temps a ton of salt gets dumped on the street so no winter driving unless there has been sufficient rain to wash off the salt.

Winter car is a 2008 Audi S6 with Pirelli Sottozero winter tires.

I agree. What I also meant to say is that if it rains and washes the salt off I am in a 911. I have a 500 series 4matic Benz wagon as my winter beater. It's pretty quick.

I put on my winter wheels and tires and drive it. I stay away from freshly salted roads.

Drove mine in the snow last winter After I got it back from the enginged/trans rebuild. I think I'm gonna put it away for winter this time around. Looking for a jeep XJ or somethijg a bit more interesting.
