Spoiler won't go down

Spoiler won't go down
Got a question.
When I hit 80 KPH my spoiler goes up but it will no go down when I slow donw.
With the button inside the bonnet (it's a '89) it works perfectly up and down.
So I think it is an electrical problem, missing a sensor somewhere.
Has anybody had this problem or knows where to start looking?
Thx

If your spoiler erection lasts longer than 4 hours, seek medical attention.
Look into the micro switches located on the spoiler mechanism.

Often if it goes up and but then does not retract it is the controller (under the passenger seat) not sensors on the mechanism itself. That was the case on my car...though it started out being erratic; sometimes it would retract and then other times not.

I did a simple trick since I didn't want to spend $300 on a new module. I have a 90 c2 which has 2 modules. One is located under the seat and the other is located under the dash. Anyhow, I took my Dremel tool and used a polishing wheel to clean the studs. It worked for me at the moment.
Unfortunately now, it seems that my spoiler goes down intermittently. It may be time for another cleaning? This time though, I'm hearing a clicking noise from under the passenger seat if I turn the car off w/o manually lowering the spoiler. I may have to bite the bullet and buy a new module.

I've been going through this exact issue. There's a lot of info on this and other forums and my post should be on page 2 or 3 of this very 964 forum.
Wisdom suggests it's the control module behind glove box. I've tried replacing a bunch of components and re-soldering the board to no avail.
Next step is to get a replacement control unit. Prices seem to vary from $200 to around $500 although I've seem a few at $100, although they are quickly snapped up.
Also check your micro switches in the spoiler first.
Good luck!!!

I just sent my spoiler unit to:
Systems Consulting
3520 Maple Ave
Manhattan Beach, CA 90266
Should be able to repair for $135.
I'll update later after they take a look at it.

Yes, Loren fixed the unit. Took about 3 days.
Since then however I bought a replacement unit
because I wanted to tweak BOTH the up speed and the down speed
of the spoiler. The original module is a spare.
