Default Sports cat or decat advice please

Guys I tried to replace my 02 sensor and it fell apart when I tried to undo it. Even heat has failed me this time! All I have is a stub of metal poking up.

I have now taken the cat off and have decided to replace it. Looking at the options,
should I go for a sports cat, or a decat, or a resonated decat? My car is a 1990 C2 manual.
Cheers

I have a cat bypass and love it. Highly recommend it for our cars!

Decat sounds great especially with a G-Pipe.

There is a seller on eBay who has 964 stainless decat pipes for £75 if that helps. Note you will still need the o2 sensor so will need to buy a new one.

Had the same problem getting mine out from the standard cat.

So, heres a question, can someone explain to me exactly what a G-Pipe is, apparently I have one, it sounds delicious and the car runs very well. But what is it and what does it do ??

964s have the heat exchangers (located under the motor), a catalytic converter (located behind the left rear wheel), a primary muffler canister (located behind the rear bumper), a secondary muffler canister (located behind the right rear wheel), and a tailpipe.

The G-pipe replaces the secondary muffler. If you look behind the left rear and you see a curved pipe leading to your exhaust tip, you have a G-pipe.

Please do the Earth a favor and get the sport cat. Supposedly there's only a 2 horsepower difference and I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

You might think your emissions are insignificant but the Earth is dying by 7 billion paper cuts and we all should be doing what we can to minimize our impact.

In the first pic the secondary muffler at 9 is replaced with a g-pipe in the second pic. The pictured g-pipe is of the long type. A short version is also avail.

^ That's a 'swan neck' G-Pipe and looks a work of art. Standard G-Pipe is a lot smaller (and cheaper)

Sound aside, the conventional wisdom is that the G-pipe gives you a little more low-end torque, while the Carrera Cup pipe (replaces the primary muffler) gives you more top-end power

The Earth isn't dying....and there is a very good paper on the cooling of the deep oceans that has just come out.

I think you should sell your sports cars and ride a bike.
