Seems like the previous owner should have filled you in on why the light is on.

Since you have no airbag that is probably it and they pulled the bulb for the airbag light.

Look around and get a resister to fool the system or get the bridge plug. Then replace the bulb and reset the system.

I have a 93 964 that came with a Momo steering wheel. The airbag came with the car but in a box. So if you have the same problem as I do, red ! on, all I do is hit the same button on the center counsel - you might have a red! 3rd button to the right. Just touch to button and it should go off. It's just a warning light so when you hit the button, off it goes. Do this after the car is started.
