Default My new to me 964 C2 and build thread

Hello all,

I'm usually on the 997 GT3/RS board and owned 2 GT3s: a 2007 997.1 GT3 and a 2011 997.2 3.8 GT3RS

Here are a few pix of my 3.8 RS

After a looooong search, I recently acquired a 1991 964 c2..... This was the car I've always wanted since high school and now am a proud owner.

I'm in love with this older woman and all the young girls I had were fast and fun for the moment.

I will be posting mods that suit my taste and would like to share with you all her unmolested form before transformation.

Thank you for listening/reading and let me introduce you to her.

So happy to finally introduce myself and be part of this awesome 964 group.

Beautiful cars. Can't wait to read about your comparison between the young ones and the older one.

Nice. The car looks clean. Can't wait to see the transformation.

I think the whole young vs older story is the premise of the movie Don Jon, lol.

Wow, great to see you over in this forum.

It says a lot when the GT3 guys are looking for 964s. With over 50 years of 911s to chose from, I'm sure we all wouldn't mind owning a couple different generations of these wonderful cars. I hope to one day add a 997.2 GT3 to the stable.

When will Mooty get his 964???!

i can't find one i like ugh......
yes 50 years of 911. i had 993c2. thought it was nice, it was many years ago. then i bought a 993c2 and a 993TT recently. memory was rosier than reality. really really not what i expected coming from RS. i realize they will be slower, but i would take any GT3 over any 993 (except 993RSCS or 993GT2).

will have to try a 3.2L carerra sometime. dad had one. i learned how to drive stick in a 3.0SC. but that' was looooong ago.

964 is another i need to try again. had a 1991 in 1994. cab, red on tan. but the repair bill forced me to sell it.

just drove RSA. not my kind of car. i am weak 5'2" 130 lbs. i cant turn the steering wheel...

i will follow this build...

congrats bud.

Thank you all for the warm welcomes and I am excited to be here.

There are sooooo many beautiful 964 builds here and Black-Betty is a favorite.

My build will not be as extensive and to bare bone metal as a lot of the awesome builds here, but it will be a learning curve for me and I hope you all enjoy the journey I have with her.

Thanx for sharing your excitement with me on my new "old" car. It is a dream car of mine.

And thanx to a lot of you for trying to help me find the perfect 964 for me..... Especially you Mooty.

Just the usual steering wheel, seats, suspension, half cage, wheels...... Maybe bodywork.

Just tweaked to my taste and personality......

Let's see how far this and my wallet goes. Trying to make a dollar out of fifteen cents is tough though.
