Crash repair

5 Attachment(s)
Hi guys, I bought a great RSA a few months ago and crashed it yesterday.

Drove all weekend in the rain on R6 Hoosiers that I already raced on and the seemed good enough for the enduro when it finally dried up Sunday.
I spin rarely 3x in 10 years and never crashed before, so this is new to me.

90 minute enduro that should have lasted 89.5 minutes
Started P1, no idea how I got there, following the pace car was a surprise.
P1 or P2 the entire race having a lot of fun, still finished P12 after crashing LOL.

Left rear went and I went for a ride, but all is OK, not even sore today after hitting the wall at 80Mph, the spin started at 133Mph all in all a successful crash..

Anyway, the shop has most of the parts located but RSA steering racks are not existent? How is a normal C2 rack different, just the power steering connections?

Any advice or if you have any parts laying around, please let me know.
The goal is to get the car back in running condition in 3 weeks..

Sad to see such a nice car all dented up. Good to hear you are OK, thats the most important.
KaiB/Steve Weiner put a power steering rack in his RSA, but hooked it up to a electric power steering pump that is located in the frunk. I think that would be the best solution since the RSA does not have the power take off on the right side cam.

Sorry to hear this, glad your OK.

Are you sure power steering racks are NLA I know of someone who picked up a new one recently it was under $1000. Did you try Sunset Porsche?

I have parts for sale I posted this AM but was trying not to ship.

Contact Vincent at Gulf Performance in Pompano Beach, he has some used parts.

Cobalt, PM sent.

Although that royally stinks...I'm glad to see you're doing fine and besides that will buff right out...mainly cosmetic, correct?

Glad you're OK! Been there, done that. At 70MPH, not 80. Safety devices did their job.

Were you at Road Atlanta? I hear it was quite a carnage last weekend :(

There's a manual steering rack for sale in the classifieds.

Best of luck with the repairs!

Got a steering rack; Thanks.
Waiting on Cobalt to strap some parts to a pallet LOL.

Looks like Georgia clay. Saw a cup car that was torn up there as well and understand there was a bunch of carnage. Glad you're okay and ready to get her fixed up and back out!

TRAKCAR 03-31-2014 06:38 PM

Crap, I called my shop and they already put on a regular C2 rack without pump to get it to the body shop?

He says he thinks its the same but I'm pretty sure its less direct, so without power steering its harder to race the car no?

Cobalt is trying to get the parts out; Someone please bring Anthony a pallet and some bubble wrap LOL

Sorry for the incident, but just imagine if it were a cup or gt3rs!

Anyway take a look here, about halfway down, you wouldn't even have to paint!:
