Fuchs Wheels for a 964 Widebody??
I am looking to do a deal on a 964.
It has had all steel Turbo arches and panels fitted so it is in effect a widebody car - but it retains the standard "narrow body" rear suspension like say a 964 3.8 RSR - to allow fitment of wider rear wheels and deeper dish wheels?
It currently has some cup 2's fitted - with huge rear spacers to fill out the arches!.....and as part of a series of updates I want to fit some Fuchs wheels to the car.
Now I see Fuchs do a modern 10" wide 18" rim - for the 964 and 964 Turbo.....on the 964 the fitment says it will need "12mm spacers"....but no spacers needed on the Turbo (as the Turbo has the wider rear suspension and longer trailing arms etc) - however this car has the Turbo body but with the non-Turbo suspension - meaning I would again need massive spacers.
So the question is - is there anyone doing a wider - maybe say 11" Fuchs wheel - and ideally one with a deep offset / dish - like for instance on the Speedlines on the aforementioned 964 RSR 3.8 - or 993 GT2?
I know Zuffenhaus were doing some (if they are available) but they are only 17" diameter so dont know if they will fit over the "big red" Turbo brakes?
Any suggestions please? I want the classic Fuchs look - with either silver/chrome spokes - or even RSR style.
Thanks!

When I was looking at doing a 964>IB supersport backdate I tried some 16x8(951 part number) & 16x9(911 part number) on a narrow body 964. The wheels were at full drop so at the worst part of their camber which makes things look worse:
Front:
Rear:
I measured from the green band on the front tyre to the edge and its about 60mm.
Turbo width: 1775 mm
Narrow body: 1650 mm
125 mm more overall
=62.5 mm per side
So if you fancy using16's and you can find them I think 8&9x16 will fit on a 964 NB converted to WB without using any spacers but you must use the 951 part number 8's(which are 944T rears).
Heres what the above wheels look like on a narrow IB, plenty of dish.
BTW where in northumberland are you?

I would go with Rotiform for a fully custom setup. Or, if you are looking for an european (and probably slightly cheaper) alternative, Kerscher in Germany has a modular Fuchs knock off in 17 and 18, as wide as you can ever imagine.
For a turbo body with narrow body suspension, for the 11" wide rear wheel you should be looking at an offset of close to 0 I believe. In the front you can fit 9x18" and if I remember correctly, a good offselt would be in the ballpark of 20-30. This is rough guesstimate though, I don't have personal experience (yet).

Sorry for bringing up an old thread but I have the same car, a 964 C4 Widebody conversion that retains the narrow body suspension. After consulting with Alan at Fikse who make the Zuffenhaus wheels, I ordered the following:
Front 17 x 8.5 et49
Rear 17 x 11 et17,
J Lip, satin classic finish
Here are some pictures of the car. The wheels are supposed to arrive in February
And this is a bad photoshop of the wheels on the car:

The offset used on the 3.8RS/RSR was 18 x 9 ET 48 and 18 x 11 ET 5. You can play with these a little. You need to verify that they retained the narrow body alignment up front. The turbo pushed the suspension outwards by mounting the lower support arms to the outer holes and rotated the upper mount to the outboard position if this was done you need to recalculate the front offset or switch it back to NB settings.
