I’m not really sure what you mean, other than the Dog reference. BTW, My family used ‘seek’ as the command for our spaniels and Shepard’s.

That dealer does not have the best rep...a quick rennlist or google search should give you everything you need to know. Doesn't mean every car they sell is a pig, but make sure to be extra careful and get a thorough PPI at a shop not recommend by them.

Thank you, much appreciated. I called them to discuss the car after I saw it on eBay. I didn’t love his response to my question of the cars general condition. He basically fell back on the fact that they are experts, and their reputation was enough. Not exactly a quote, but that was my takeaway.

It has at least 2 different types of wheels on it. How great could it be?

Thanks. Can you please describe the difference in wheels you see? I’m sure you are correct, but I can’t differentiate.

It has Mille miglia cup1 replicas on right side and one on left front and looks like that French cup 1 copy on left rear. Can't remember the name of those right now.

Is it just me or is that the crispest looking print on the option sticker under the hood yet it is all wrinkled? Not to mention the font? I would like to see how it compares to the one in the manual? Also just speculation but typical signs of blend line in door jams. Would consider metering the paint I suspect a respray possibly more but something ain't right?

I have looked at some 94 MY cars lately that appear to have been repainted and have had the vin stickers on the panels reproduced. Supper high quality windows out bare metal respray and all tags in place but a respray no doubt. The problem is they got everything right but the printer made the vin number far to deep black. Worse yet they are claiming original paint and asking too much.

Here is an option tag from an all original 17k mile car. I omitted some info since this is not my car but I am accustomed to seeing them look like this. Can anyone show one that is known to be original and looks like the one from the red car? It is possible they used other fonts, printers and paper but I haven't experienced it.

All the option code hood stickers I have seen match the top one with faded numbers/letters and a slight yellow hue due to age. I would certainly question the bright white sticker with darker letters on the lower one unless it’s a very low mileage car that has been in a controlled environment.

The one I posted on top was from a 17k mile all original climate controlled garage queen. It matches mine as well which is also a princess and my C2 which is not. The picture was taken nearly 15 years ago. I had to dig deep into my archives to find one so old and original other than my own. The font is all wrong as well. The issues is some of these markers are used to determine quick evaluation of originality. Apparently this can no longer be trusted.

I am seeing some very nice attempts to replicate these and other tags but the problem is they are not correct in one way or another. It appears not only do we need to start looking at if the tags are in place but if they are original as well. As prices rise no doubt this will happen and I am starting to see it at the highest level.

I assume the tag for the red car in the manual will show as the one I posted. If so that makes this a clear reproduction. No doubt the manual will probably not exist.

If you compare the fonts, you will notice the difference. original fonts are printed with dot matrix. The reproduction is likely printed with Ink Jet or laser.

It’s rather unfortunate that there are so many uncouplous sellers out there that will do whatever they can to dupe a buyer. Used car sales has always had a very high level of dishonesty associated with it but it seems lately It’s being taken to a higher level to really bring in the big bucks. What’s interesting is that it seems to be commonplace for the 964, maybe because they were so undervalued for so long that very few good original cars exist anymore?

The Targa on BAT had an interesting post, apparently it’s only been driven 70 miles since 2006 and the speedometer was changed very recently. Certainly that would make anyone question the validity of the mileage. It’s in good condition but the seat leather does appear to have more wear than would be standard on a 50k mile car. Being a Targa I would give the seller some credit as the sun will cause interiors to prematurely wear if the top is left off often enough.
