Good eye. I didn't spot the bubbling until you mentioned it. I would definitely recommend a PPI, but something that runs well in the low $30s will provide some equity to fix a few minor issues. Significant rust could definitely be a deal breaker though.

Love the color combo. Midnight blue over tan is beautiful. I agree that the price is VERY optimistic, even with a very rare color combo.

I don't think 119k is necessarily "high" mileage. It falls in the golden years (92-94) of the 964, C2, manual, rare color. Seats need a little TLC but car looks presentable otherwise. I'm sure it will garner enough interest at that price.

44k as an initial ask isn't out of control for a C2. For me it would need full service history, not some flipper who threw away all the records and handed me a carfax. Then it would need to pass a good ppi with strong leakdown numbers done by someone competent. And then, looking through the service records, I'd like to see a lot of wear parts having been replaced. At 119k the distributer should have been rebuilt, preferably new belt and new bearings (Steve weiner does this btw), new-ish wires, plugs, rotors, caps...oil change intervals at 5k Max going back years, a switch to some kind of oil that has reasonable zddp in it post the regulation change in the US to no longer allow zinc and phosphorus in road going motor oil. La la la, you get the point. There are many more things to look for...

If you are going to ask for a lot of money, you had better be able to tell the buyer what he is getting, and remove at least a reasonable amount of risk that he will subsequently be spending huge money to sort out a car that was priced as a sorted car.

So there you go. In the end, I think I just said I wouldn't buy it, cuz there is no way he would be able to give me what I need to pay up to full market for a good car.

We should all be requiring that the people selling 911's get very real, and very specific about what they are selling. Nothing against this seller, but as long as I'm on a rant....seriously everyone on Rennlist should be mad that so many of our newest members have bought cars in the current market from guys that are throwing away years of records and selling mediocre cars for huge prices. These aren't Hondas. I want the history and I want to know what's been done, by whom, and how well.

We're here talking about a mid-$40k 119k mi driver 964 the seller self-describes just as "good" and some guy on the 993 forum just paid $55k for a 38k mile, desirable color paint-to-sample, sport seat. fully documented 993 C2

Agreed, the world has gone mad. I've been going back and forth on a Targa Tip for a couple months now but the seller is asking (and sticking to) $40K. While the car appears to be in very good condition, there are no maintenance records for the last 8 years, complete black hole. I like the car but this seems to be bordering insanity to me. The crazy part is that someone will eventually buy it and not think twice about it, there is an **** for every seat after all.
