Chrome H4 Rings
I am curious how my black car would look with chrome H4 beauty rings...
Does anyone have a spare set lying around I could try? I'll pay shipping and if they work out I'll make you an offer?

As someone who's installed the chrome H4 Headlights on my silver metallic 964, I can tell you that the chrome ring is the integral part of the new assembly, and not a trim ring that can be removed. Fellow Rennlisters, correct me if I'm wrong.
I would suggest looking at older pictures of black 911s with the chrome rings and see if it works for you...personally, I think they'd look great.
Another suggestion would be to go to a hardware store and get some shiny silver metallic tape, normally used for sealing hot ducting and such, tape off your existing rings, stand back and see if you like the look.
Good luck!

Technically, there is a separate pair of rings that is sold to go on top of the ones that come with the bucket. They serve to cover up the adjustment holes. But, they are like 55$ each.

Its basically a bare ring, with just once screw opening at the bottom to secure it. (Like the bottom H5 screw.) From looking around myself Pelican has the best price on them.

I have the chrome H4's on my car with the white cover ring on the car now, so I go back and forth with those. I personally like the chrome ring on the white background, but being the only chrome on the car, it does make a statement. Not everybody's cup of tea, I suppose, but standing alone is someimes the statement I want to make

If anyone's interested, I have a set of the special screws that you'd need for the H4 kit that allows you to add a trim ring that would overlay the ring that is integral to the light assembly. I'd ordered it through Pelican as a mistake as it's pretty hard to decipher exactly what pieces you need from the verbage on Pelican.
The part number is:
911-631-033-00/260
911-631-033-00
Headlight Rim Screws
The baggy has two screws and two white plastic bushings.
These are the screws into which the the mounting screws screw into.
I'd probably send them to any Rennlister for free but do have a paypal account if we'd want to figure out any shipping/costs reimbursement.

I can't find my receipt but I recall paying $6 for the screws, and in just looking at Pelican right now, they're listed at $7.50. I got my screws in one bag but now wondering if it was $6 per screw, thus $12 for the pair.
