There are a few pages with various mods yes - but not one that sets out 'how to' very clearly.
I've just got back from a trip experiencing the same symptoms - new resistor / relay.. all ok, but the temp, in standing traffic heads up to 248' and sometimes more.
Can someone 'spoon feed me?' and help me get the correct wire!?

I tapped into the CCU and added a switch on the dash. This is a reverse circuit, in that when the switch is OFF, the fan runs on high, and ON, the fan operates normally.

Relay R04 checked and unfortunately it works properly, both low and high speed circuits; fan as already written, works both high and low speed.
It seems that no signal (12v) arrives to the relay in order to activate it. Is the problem the CCU ? Where is it located?
Thanks

Possible solution at 0 cost:
I get 12v from the battery and bring them to terminals 85 and 86 thru a cabin switch in order to activate bobbin relay (closing terminal 30 and 87) and run fan at high speed when I want.

Stance question. I've read tons of threads but haven't found the answer, yet.
Wheels- Cup 1 OEM
7" 55 offset fronts....9" 55 offset rears
Tires-
205/50/17 fronts....255/40/17 rears
Getting KW V3s installed in a couple weeks. How low to go? What size spacers will fit?
Street use only.
Thanks

My RHD car was missing its luggage compartment light when I got it. I have the small loom section, diffuser & bulb but can't figure out exactly the route that the wire is supposed to follow. Also, the replacement cable includes an unfinished end which I presume is to go to the nearby earthing point. Can anyone confirm with a picture please?

The CCU is the Climate Control Unit. Its next to the stereo that you use to control the cabin heating/cooling. The oil cooling fan control circuitry are combined with the cabin heating/cooling. Not sure why. To test the CCU, do you have access to a diagnostic scanner such as scantool or hammer?

I would try either swapping a CCU with another to test or connect a scanner to see if you have any fault codes in the CCU. Its looking like that may be the fault but rebuilding CCUs is not cheap so you want to be sure that's the problem before rebuilding or replacing.

From what I've gathered, your 47 offsets + 5mm would equate to my 55s + 13mm spacers (+ longer studs)?

The R04 relay also communicates with the A/C condensor blower relay R14. Not sure how neccessary this is where there is no A/C fitted - might have a check myself.
Maybe the next step is to check the oil temp sensor function on the cooler. Without a temp build up not sure how to bridge the circuit for testing (other than get the car running hot and test for a closed/open circuit from the sensor itself), others might know. Beyond that it's back to the CCU again. As Rob has already suggested, if you can perform a quick CCU swap over with one you know is working then that would help.
BTW - what yellow is that you have? Looks great...

After futzing around with everything else, I'm starting to think my CEL light is electrical rather than mechanical. Seems it is more prone to flashing when I'm on a rough road.
Anyone know if the well-known clock issues could be causing the CEL? Is there any reason to believe that if one of the cold solder joints is off that it would trigger it?
