This is what I used
10x5mm 2M Self Adhesive Foam Sealing Tape Strip Draught Excluder EPDM Rubber
or 15mm x 10mm
or 10mm x 10mm
Bought all three as very cheap but can't remember which one I ended up using,
I think it was the 15mm x 10mm

If I remember correctly where you stick the strip on the shroud is about 5mm recessed so the 10mm thick only compresses 50% whereas the 5mm wouldn't compress at all

I trimmed down foam rubber weather stripping.

I see. It is usually the pieces I posted that disintegrate and are never replaced. they help flow thee air over the oil cooler and not around it.

For what you want i just use standard 1/4" air conditioning insulation tape. It is slightly larger but does the job and nobody is the wiser.

Thanks for all the follow up comments. I have some foam adhesive like the stuff mentioned, but I assume as soon as it gets hot and or wet it's going to disintegrate just like what's on there now. Wasn't sure if there was a better option, guess not.

This is the stuff I used for my track car. It was a couple of bucks from HD for a 50 foot roll. It seems to be holding up after two years and a lot of heat.

Awesome, I have something very similar I grabbed off amazon. We'll see how it goes.

In the interest of keeping this thread on the front page (seems to be a new hobby of mine), can anyone clarify this page of the PET for me?

Specifically parts 9 and 10. They appear on the diagram that they go together, but I am hoping part 10 is what goes between 7 and 8 to hold them together, and part 9 is what goes between the end of the parking brake cable and 7? The pin in the end of the cable is not shown on the page with the handle and cable either, I checked.

Early '90 C2 Cabrio

The clock warning light between 12 & 1 for the rear spoiler has flickered a couple times recently. Can't see the spoiler from inside the car to see what's happening. Haven't noticed any other lights when this is occurring. Light only stays on for a second or 2. It flickered on/off maybe 3 times in a 5 min period but hasn't done it again.

Thoughts?

Thanks

Hey another Hill Country 964! Was this when sitting or driving? Mine sometimes stays on, but immediately goes out when I start driving.

A local- cool, I've only seen one other 964 driving around town...in Lakeway, a red coupe.

This happened when driving. Had been going 55-60 and slowed to 45ish. That was the first flicker. Happened so quickly I wasn't sure it really did. Then about a minute later it flickered again in the same speed range. I think the third was within 5 mins and closer to 10 mph.

I didn't notice any other lights coming on.

What's the purpose of the light?...indicates if spoiler isn't moving when it should?

Did you guys drive down 281 from Dallas around May last year? I was driving up to check into this car and something like four 964's went cruising by in the opposite direction. Don't see that everyday, unfortunately.

Yeah we were on 281 for a bit, then cut over to 16. 2 red ones and a white one.

I'm not sure what all it will trigger on, but worth taking a look at the microswitche on the engine lid to ensure they are connected fully. Perhaps it's just a dying switch. (or watch for the spoiler not raising)

How do you store the lug wrench in the frunk?
I want to make sure I put it in a spot where it won't flop around.
Pictures would be very helpful

I have mine wrapped with a towel and tucked under the panel where the frunk latch is. This allows the trunk carpet panel to lay flat on the spare. The towel avoids any rattling which would drive me bananas.
