What absurd shipping fees? I have never found their shipping fees to be absurd in fact more like reasonable compared to most places.

Although Dacromet is a safer alternative I found Gold cad platting to last the longest and look the best.

I guess I'm spoiled by Amazon Prime and Pelican's free shipping for orders over $100. I could go through my old receipts, but I've shipped enough to know when I'm being overcharged.

Back on topic.... maybe not so silly: I replaced my odometer gears. It still wouldn't turn. I took it back apart thinking there was an old tooth lodged in there somewhere, nope. Everything spins freely. Reassembled and still nothing.

Anyone else have a similar issue? Tried searching but after reading through a couple dozen broken gear threads I've come up empty.

I have had my odometer fixed twice. The second time they wrote that the sun gear was incorrectly fitted. Just a data point.

Anyone know the part # of the square nut ? This is the bolt that goes thru the rear bumper impact absorber. The PET clearly shows the bolt/washer/eccentric washer.....no square nut that I can see. Anyone ?

That nut looks identical to the one used to hold the AC Condensor in place. Here’s the part number for the square nut, hopefully someone can confirm if it’s correct. Nut M8
Part #: 964-126-311-00-OEM

I can't say if the nut is similar or not but it is part of the bumper reinforcement assembly so it is not AFAIK sold individually. Would be curious to know if it is the same as the one mentioned. It would be easy enough to get a piece of bar stock cut it to size drill and tap it.

Not even close to the AC nuts. This is M12 x 1.75 (just chkd it).
Would like to avoid having to make one out of bar stock...maybe a dismantler can source one....

I will check to see I believe I have a bumper reinforcement that has one side of the mounting tab broken. If it is damaged I will see what it takes to remove and report back.

Oil tank hose. Notice the small arrow... does that mean I have to put it a certain way?

I don't think that's an arrow, just a production mark. The hose is same diameter both sides of the bulge and in early cars the bulge wasn't even there.

Regards,

Neil
