Definitely keep it unless the car has non reversible modifications.

Do you think it will be worth that much more with the stock steering wheel?
I bought the car to drive so I'm not sure why I care that much. But you never know.

^^^ Unless it is an ultra low miles time capsule, nobody gives a hoot about the ugly stock airbag steering wheel. If your 964 is modded or has higher miles and you have the airbag steering wheel, just sell it or hang it on the garage as wall art. My $0.02.

I just paid USD 320 to buy a mint Black non air bag wheel and then shipped it from Oregon to New Zealand. It was worth it to me.

If I bought another 964 without an original wheel it would make me discount the value by that. It's yours to sell (what colour is it?) but I question why it would be so hard to just store, just in case.

One rider to the above. If it's not in pristine condition the value plummets. It can only have an original condition once and refurbed is never the same.

is the double oil gauge of the 964 the same as the 993? I think the warning lights may be different?

Gee, I love the stock wheel, aesthetically and ergonomically. Mine is blue so I don't want a black one and I don't need a yellow strip up top to tell me where center is. Good diameter and perfect width, feels good in the hand and shuffles well, I never understood why replacing it with a 70s looking Momo, and losing the airbag, was an "upgrade".

Yea that's my thought. My car has around 80k on it but I plan on putting a lot of miles on it.

I see your point.
Mine is black and it's in great condition.

I don't mind the look at off of the stock wheel. But my car came with the 930s wheel, and I bought a Porsche Design wheel... So not sure what to do with two extra steering wheels.

I also like the look of the stock wheel. But the Cup Steering wheel (Momo) has a smaller diameter (350MM), and extends out toward the driver which is a big plus for us taller drivers. http://www.carnewal.com/products/964...-Wheel-993-996 The 30 year old airbag is also more of a liability than an asset IMHO.

You are probably right about the airbag, I hope I never find out!

I'm having difficulty finding the part number for the cable that connects between the power seat and the chassis harness. My passenger seat is missing this cable.
Is this something that needs to be built from individual parts?

I would try calling one of the Porsche used parts companies like DC Auto and Parts Heaven.

Default Where does this part go?

Anybody know where this rubber washer goes? I found it loose under the firewall of my '92 964. It measures 18mm OD x 6mm ID x 5mm thick.
It has a distinctive pattern on one side of 4 radial grooves. Hope someone can solve the mystery.

Ok mystery solved! There are supposed to be two rubber washers and they are part number 911-511-332-00 (#8 in dwg). These washers are used to attach part number 993 572 403 00 (#7 in dwg) which is the very thin plastic cover that bridges the gap from the firewall to the end of the hood bay. See pictures below for clarity. The PET shows these washers as being installed on TOP of the cover, but if I do that the cover won't seal properly on the edge that touches the end of the bay. So either the foam strip has shrunk, or the washers actually go underneath the cover, which lifts the cover up making a better seal. Can anyone have a quick look at theirs to see if (a) a rubber washer is visible and (b) does the seal at the back edge look tight? Your 964 would have to be a 1990 or newer to use the rubber washers according to the PET.
