Obviously it's not that bad, but it is a plain old narrow body CIS 2.7 car. Nice driver but certainly not an investment quality car. 80k is a joke. The buyer must have thought is was a MFI car.

classic air cooled 911 are hot items... SWB and LWB 69-73. Fetching strong money dead or alive.
Even SWB 912 are gaining strength...

993 was always kinda strong but the 964 really picked up its socks!

Folks who love the classic 911 realized that the 964 being the last of the bug eyes also benefited from decent A/C, coil over suspension and ABS.... chances are they also did not require dire restoration like the older relics....

In lusting for any older 911, simple is better. Thus the RSA comes into play. And the demand went up on them.

When looking for a long wheel base air cooled 911, you can look at everything from 1969-1994.
The 964 is the best driving and equipped out of all of them. Thus to see 6 figure prices is not out of the ordinary when you think about it, especially given that the 1969-1973 can be 6 figures....

Crazy how the market is right now. I'm loving the general jump in 964 prices.

I ended up selling my RSA a few months ago for over 100k. I'm on the lookout for a nice clean 30k 964 coupe to replace it, but it looks as if that ship has sailed too...

Default Miles

How many miles on that rs a and condition and history ? Just trying to get a sense what 100k rsa looks like? We talking a rare bubble wrapped documented super low mile car or other? Just curious. Tx

Congrats on the sale.

I have received offers close to $60k for my 60,000 mile 93C2 with RSA tail and mods. Nothing is crazy when 94 turbo S's are seeing $700k and 3.6T's at $300k. The one that I am completely perplexed by are the early 911T's and turbo Carrera's fetching $200k a few years ago you couldn't give them away.

I have seen some very nice RSA's sell for less than 6 figures they do sell for 6 figures but not many from what i am seeing. If I can get nearly $60k for my C2 I see no reason why an RSA shouldn't fetch double that but triple is still ludicrous.

I've seen several RSA's trade well over 100k. I had multiple offers for mine, and people were getting angry that they were not the highest offer.

My car was an original paint 66k mile car with a good history and tasteful upgrades. It was not a show car, but wasn't a driver either. I'd say it was a 8.5-9 car. You could drive it anywhere, but it just got too valuable for me to keep driving it. I've got a BMW M-Coupe that I can drive and not worry too much about mileage or some chips and scratches.... (Although they are going up in value too)

But that being said, even a car that has been tracked and brought back to original would sell for 90k plus in todays market if properly gone through and documented.

Here are some photos of my car:

Thanks for the reply, and congrats on selling your car. 100k for 66K miles I think you did very well. Your car looks great in the pics...

Default RS misinformation

And where does the RS Touring (M002) stand in this discussion of what's an RS and what's not? It had no seam welding (check the body-in-white scope of conversion instructions to see just how little actually is seam-welded on the Basic (M001) and NGT (M003)) but it did have AC, power-steering, sunroof, headlamp washers, power seats, electric mirrors, regular thickness glass, dual-mass flywheel.

The above needs to be corrected.

RS America= Based on C2 decontented (manual steering, no AC or radio)
No seam welds or rolled fenders, M64/01stock engine and stock C2 transmission, and US spec C2 sport suspension.
Add rear wing and decals (cloth on seats).

RS Touring (M002)=Homologation Car for Motorsport based on "Carrera Cup"
Read 911 Carrera RS Service Information Technik WKD 479 620 (1992)
40 pages of differences specific to the ROW RS models.

The M002 was the least hard core with just 76 produced. It had power steering and AC as options. Engine M64/03 with piston and cylinder matching for motorsport. The transmission G50/10 featured steel synchronizing rings 1st-4th.
The list is a very long one…welded body, turbo brakes, RS struts RS steering, 40mm lower suspension and those magnesium wheels. Fact: all ROW RS models had Thin glass (except the windshield).

The options list was generous but still the M002 is an ROW RS tailored for touring purposes while the RS America is some else completely.

With the RS America prices inflated due to low production numbers in the 700s. Just think 1 RS touring (M002) per 10 RSA's. I would love one of each (RSA and all 3 RS variants) but lets get the facts straight from Porsche for a proper comparison.

Attached is an interior photo of a M002 touring from Japan.
