Default Lowering Springs Installed….Not very low

installed Koni Active Struts and Eibach lowering springs. The front didn’t lower as much as I hoped. Spring perches all the way down.

Here’s a pic of them before I installed them. I didn’t remove the spring perches…I just screwed them down to lower them.

What is the piece the red line touches below the spring and above the perch. I’m sorry I’m not trying to be a smart *** the whole lower perch area looks odd I just put hr springs on mine

No I appreciate the help.
That is a factory piece that has an indention in it to grab the spring above it and keep it from turning.
I wonder this…since I don’t plan to corner balance this car and I have the perches down as low as they can go, what if I dremmel off the bottom red locking collar? This would allow me to lower the top red spring perch a few more turns.

I think that means your spring perches would have to be larger diameter to be able to hold the spring up. The Koni perches would likely fit inside the springs without that factory piece there.

The Bilstein reuses the spring perch from the original setup IIRC.

The perches are what cradle the spring and should be used however you could probably gain another 3/8" or so by only using one adjusting collar/ring. Most don't use more than one including the RS/CUP springs and shocks.

I wonder how easy it would be to remove the threaded aluminum sleeve. If you reverse it, would you gain the needed range.

Another thought… might be worth letting it settle for a bit before doing anything. It could naturally get to the point you want it.

I learned something new again 👍🏼 Cobalt ++ That said
I still think it just looks odd around the bottom spring perch. Maybe if the reused portion was color matched to the rest of the new set up.
😳OMG I’ve turned into my wife color matching 🙄🤣
