Don't stop!!! My alerts got turned off for this post and thought you hadn't had time to put anything up!
Looks like it's going to be video time soon! We want to hear her roar too !!!
I'll have to stop by and see the car in the coming weeks when I'm in town! Looks "awesome"

I asked Ferdinand how the engine sounds. It sounds very deep he said...like an animal, a deep growl like a lion or something...haha
He let me hear it through the phone, I loved it. Its a beast indeed!
Two more days of dyno and programming.

Saturday, Saturday, Saturday!!!!

Yesterday I received a call from Ferdinand at TTP. There is a noise in the engine which doesn't belong there...

Now, when I brought the car to Germany I told them about this. They told me don't worry, when we do the overhaul we will double check everything and we'll solve it.
They didn't find it but put the engine back together and installed it anyway. Now they found out the sound is still there so we are back to square one.

I had bought flight tickets to pick up the car today but unfortunately the engine is going to come out again and they will have to find the problem.

Yesterday I was completely disappointed and felt seriously bad.
Today I woke up with that first thought....'something bad happened yesterday what was it again?' and then immediately it struck me.
But things are just the way they are and I just need to sit back, relax and enjoy life as it is, not worry about how I would like it to be.

I am very fortunate to be able to drive such a car and customise it to my liking anyway. So I'll just have to wait and see what they find out. Might take a couple of weeks again.

On a lighter note, my wheels came back from the powder coating company! And oh boy they look good...

Incredible that you guys have managed to squeeze so much machinery into such confined space.

^Make sure you seal off around this pass-through on the rear engine tin, otherwise the motor's cooling fan is going to be pulling hot, turbo-heated, air from behind the bumper cover and blowing it over the motor.

That is an excellent point! I will discuss this next week and see if they did.
Thanks!

All in good time as they say!
It just wasn't meant to be this weekend or last.
Fingers crossed the issue comes to light and can get on to the next stage!

Okay, they dismantled the complete engine again, double checked everything and couldn't find the problem.
So they took the pistons and cylinders to a specialist and he found the problem. I am not so well informed as to what the problem is exactly but I know that they are going to reshape the pistons and do something to the piston rings as well.
When I pick up the car I will make sure to completely understand what was wrong. I am very curious!
Anyway the pistons are in great hands, this company works for Porsche directly making prototypes and race parts so I trust everything will be fine.

Work should be done next Monday, starting the engine assembly on Tuesday and perhaps a pickup end of next week is possible.

Can't wait to see the finished results! And don't mind the lack of responses, I've been following this since day 1!

I enjoy following the topic a lot since I am planning something similar. The irony is though, that I was planning to bring my engine to the Netherlands, as I am from Germany.

Wow, how could I have missed this thread?

This project actually resembles my car in certain ways.
My car had the motor done by Lotec so its a 964 with TT engine. I also have a 4way Intrax system on mine. 993 Gt2 evo uprights. Upgraded brakes. I dont have any mufflers just cats and straight pipes after that. My car is a widebody with some CF parts.
Although my project has been going on for over three years now:-)

Well, if I believed there is someone in the Netherlands who could do this job for me I wouldn't have gone to Germany...

Who are you working with?
TTP has a long history of building engines like this and most importantly for me, they do the liquid intercooler so I don't need the big rear wing on my C2.

Wow, thats incredible! Tell me more please!
Any photos? What weight did you end up with and what power? How do you like the Intrax suspension? What brake upgrades did you end up doing?

Haha you thought it was done:-) Its coming along sloooowly though, hopefully will have it running next months. Power is supposed to be around 470rwhp. Im aiming at 1000kg(I know, I know, very hard to reach but thats the goal.) Brakes are 997 CupS. Wheels are BBS Cup with 285/335s. I cant upload pics at the moment so the only one I have is the one in my avatar. This is before we fitted CF front fenders and sent it of to the paint booth.

Thats good power. On the bench mine did 320kW at the rear wheels, around 0,8bar. They were having some problems getting full power on the bench I was told, due to slipping rear tires. Also this workshop is at altitude in the south of Germany, so perhaps I will get some more more boost in the Netherlands?
Due to bad ventilation turbo cars will not reach peak power on the bench anyway I think. I'm not sure but I can imagine the liquid intercooler likes lots of air passing through the radiator in the front.
