Default windshield replacement - who's good in Vancouver/Lower Mainland, BC?

I posted this question in the Canada forum but no one's responded so I'm reposting it here.

I need to replace a cracked windshield for my 964.

What windshield brands are OEM and recommended?

Which installers are recommended in the Vancouver area?

Typical cost / time required?

Is the exterior seal / black rubber trim typically replaced as part of the job or is that a separate service done only by request? Can the old trim be re-used?

Are you making an insurance claim? Call Porsche Center Vancouver or Weissach. If it's coming out of your jeans call Scan Automotive or Burrard Autostrasse and ask who to send it to (in fact I'd be surprised if everyone except maybe Burrard didn't send the car out to a glass specialist). They will also tell you if you can reuse the seal or not and what glass to get.

Let us know what you find. Replacing my pitted windscreen is on my to do list next year.

You can glue in a 993 windshield .
Cost = a windshield + glue + trim .

OEM brands are Saint Gobain Sekurit, Sigla and Pilkington. Be careful with aftermarket brands, they're usually thiner and don't fit as tight.

Resurrecting an older thread. Anyone have a recommendation in the Vancouver lower mainland for a 964 windshield replacement? Not cracked but definitely pitted.

And, does anyone have experience with windshield film? Recommendations or products to avoid?

Thanks,
Chris
