Default Oxgen Sensor gone AWOL

My track car suddenly sounded very loud. The noise was from the CAT so I took off the heat shield. The O2 sensor is completely gone, wiring and all. Has this happened to anyone else?

My engine was rebuilt and I changed the CAT to a newer spare I bought cheap. Maybe it wasn't correctly torqued.

An emerging thought is that Singapore didn't need these sensors so only a bung was fitted. Apparently you can use a 14mm spark plug in place of a bung. Appeals to my wallet.

Should also be able to find a replacement oil drain plug (non-P) at the FLAPS for cheap.

Not sure I could live with cat and primary bypass. I'm amazed how loud the car is with just this small hole in the cat.

No doubt! Consider yourself lucky! My 02 sensor proved to be the most difficult-to-remove threaded object I've ever come across.

I removed mine the other day and it was surprisingly easy to break loose.

It does look as if all you lost was an O2 sensor plug. The tinwork shows that you have the factory delete plug where the wiring would normally pass through into the engine compartment for a car equipped with an oxygen sensor.

Thanks. I'll search for an image to see what you mean.
