I can vouch for the low mileage car having looming mechanical issues. I drove my 964 about 100 to 200 miles per year. I kept it in pristine show condition in the garage with no less than 8 coats of wax and plenty of Vinylex and leather conditioner on the soft parts. I never took it out from under it's cover unless Venus aligned with Saturn's largest moon. I ran it three times a year and warmed it up each time with oil changes annually, but time and non - use (like 100-200 miles a year) was not kind to the seals and other mechanicals after 10 years of that. It's gone and I'm glad someone else is enjoying it. Show cars or limited mileage cars take a bunch of time and money to keep operating properly just like a well driven car.
For a driver, I'd rather have a car that has been very well maintained and has 100k on the clock.
For the concours condition, I'll still take the 28,000 mile car though.
