Default spoiler aerodynamics

Hi
i think I understand the role of our spoiler in reducing lift
BUT i do not quite undersand its role in increasing the airflow into the engine through the fan as speed increases-which i assume it must do -
How does the air flow between spoiler and engine lid ?
Role of blades on spoiler ?
Anybody got any thoughts on all this t ?diagram?s

When the spoiler and its spoiler wall (curtain) are up, it creates a high pressure zone that helps push the cooling air through the engine bay.

Plus the louvers face forward to skive some flow off the airstream as it passes.

Many thanks to you both for your responses
I have never seen a diagram of sort showing the circulation of air around the spoiler parts, nor calculations about airflow increases with speed (just sheer curiosity ,no practical consequence expected ,I must say !)
have you by any chance ?

I can't remember where I saw it, one of the sites with old articles, etc.... Porsche did reveal that the 964 was the most aerodynamic 911 ever (at that time) and gave some figures for lift reduction.

Bill V could probably tell you without consulting his notes

yes ,it would be interesting to have access to these figures
such a spoiler is not common and the combination
spoiler /fan on an air-cooled engine is perhaps even unique !!
