So were ya also doing that one-handed and looking down to make the vid with your cell phone? Was that I 25 between Albuquerque and Santa Fe?

Per Wikipedia top speed is 163 mph... were you on a downslope?

I don't think there will be many kudos here on RL .... just sayin'....

I'm guessing you're at about 8500' density altitude which'll bring your drag right down but I would have thought your engine would be gasping. But it's all a bit moot; you're a crazy man. And that's not a compliment.

Looks like I-40 heading west. Healthy engine for sure.

I've done the same in my C4 at a higher altitude north of Cuba, NM Hwy 550.
Chip, lowered, cat by-pass & primary by-pass pipe.
Roads out here are desolate, straight, and flat at times for miles, not really that big a deal for anyone other than the driver.

...no offense, but it doesn't seem like you're going that fast once you've panned up to the window screen...sorry if I'm a bit skeptical. Seems like you'd be down on power at 5300 feet and 88 degrees. And windows down?!

Stock engine? Details!

I agree, when you panned up and out the window, your approach speed on those cars in front of you should be close to 100 MPH, that works out to a half football field a second (146.67 feet per second).

So, let us know how you re-geared the speedometer.

BTW, I have a strong engine and let off at 162 MPH, after a L-O-N-G time getting up there.

Since you were all there and you are the experts, what speed are you at at 6,300 rpm in 5th gear?
Correct Type911.
The rest of you immediately swallowed disbelief when you noticed my muffler was neither polished nor stainless steel.
Disbelievers like the gentleman I met today at the Germany Mine above the Kelly Mine at Magdelena, NM. approx. 8,800 ft above sea level. The roads of which have not been traveled in 50+ years. He appeared after a lengthy and noisy ascent on a 4wd atv. He swore against my travels and insisted my 964 was airlifted to this location.
I later appeared at his cabin and learned he owns the town of Kelly with it's 588 parcels and assured me of a long friendship since he has never been baffled as such.
Skeptics. Bringing you from your world one at a time.
Oh, and by the way, my only upgrade is a $25 cherry bomb in lieu of both stock mufflers.
I should tell you all some stories about travels in my '73 RS's.

149.13 mph (240 kph) as listed in the books - but that's only the simple mechanical gearing. Perhaps the wheels were spinning?

A few months ago I managed to hit 280km/h on the three lane motorway from Starnberg into Munich. Even though it was a Saturday morning there was too much traffic and I had to slow down even though the engine was still pulling like a train...

Regarding the engine, it's a shuffle pinned and boat tailed 3.8 with lots of goodies...

Cheers,

Mark
