We use two cosco scenera's for our little one's: 16 months, and 3 years old. http://www.costco.ca/Cosco-Scenera-C....10363628.html

I highly recommend installing tethers though...

+1 on the Cosco Scenera, I also added a racing harness for the (now) 5 year old.

The Cosco is a lot cheaper at WalMart

Hi Matt,

I'm not sure where you are based - the UK? You don't mention how old your daughter is as that'll also have an bearing on which type of seat you could fit in, but the good news is that it's possible!

Have a read of these threads from when I was trying to make my 964 more family friendly!

Can also vouch for the Concorde ultimax, fits very well.

Considerations are front seat needs to be quite far forward to give enough leg room at the rear. Also you need to use the clip from the other side so means you aren't able to use the other rear seat.

IMO I'd not be using a seat that old as I think these were new at the same time as the cars, so min 16 years. They also secure the child with a single central bar, not using conventional harnesses which I don't think I'd be happy with.

+964! The tether really secures the child seat, especially from rocking forward under braking.

I used this link (thanks Bates) from the 964 DIY section to get started:

Here's a link with my experience and suggestions:

They are 10 and 6 now!

Do not use seat belt extensions!

They are dangerous especially when used with child seats.

The best option is to have the original seat belt lengthened. this is more trouble as the seat belt will need to be removed, sent to a specialist, lengthened etc.
This is the safest option.

This can be done by Quickfitsbs.com.

This is my company, but we have spent almost 50 years looking at solutions for child restraints in various cars including Porsches.

Matt,

Take a look at this thread.
https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...cabriolet.html

The seat mentioned is no longer available, but you might find a member on Rennlist or another porsche forum that has one you can buy.

It's probably advisable to buy a new fitting kit.

We sold a few hundred of these when they were still in production and whilst it is not normally recommended to buy a 2nd hand / used child seat, most used buy Porsche owners have only had occasional use and are well looked after, but be sure to check that it has not been used in an accident.

A new cover and harness can be made, so as long as the shell is undamaged, it should be Ok.

PM me if you would like any other information.

Not all seats use tether straps, and with the seat I have mentioned they are not required.

You are correct though that in many cases tether straps can make a big difference.
Some ISO fix seats still require them and in Australia they are a standard requirement.

I think that the 944 may have had the anchor point as standard.

I dont have an answer for early baby seats - but when the kid moves into a booster, I used this seat with my daughter until she grew out of it last year - made by Volvo - can buy at the Volvo Dealership. Fits better than anything on the market in the 964...

This is very much like the Maxi Cosi Rodi and suitable from 15kg. You can also use it without the back rest.
