Default Best Caliper Refurb Company? (UK)

I'm looking to get my calipers refurbished and painted Guards Red to match the body, as currently my calipers are corroded, flaky and in need of TLC. Before you all tell me how easy it is to do, I am not interested in doing this work myself. I remember reading a good review on here but cant find it for the life of me.

Soo any UK members got any suggestions?

So far i'm looking at:

The Brake Caliper Specialists (brake-caliper-painting.com)
or

Depends if you want paint or powder coat. For my money Thomas at Porsche Calipers is your man. He will put the decals on then lacquer over them. I have used Big Red for new seals etc and they were great. I ended doing mine myself (a thread on UK911 in the 964 section on what I am doing) as the cost was considerable. Having said that, by the time I'd finished I wish I had given them to Thomas!

Same here....did my own but if I had to do it again with all the time & effort to do it properly I would use Thomas.

Thanks for the info guys, think I'm going to ring around in the morning to see what deals are on offer...
One thing that I'm sure off is I don't want the hassle of this job! I quite like the thought of sending off my crusty calipers, going on holiday and returning to a fresh set of calipers to be paired up with new pads, discs and hoses!

A lot of people say very good things about Classic Car Automotive in Macclesfield, well worth a call.

Is it not the sort of thing that most indies can do perfectly well? I wouldn't have thought it was particularly difficult or specialist.

Just picked up my rears from Thomas, very impressed. I'll add a pic later but for now they are the most recent ones on here ...

So in the end I decided to go with Thomas from PorscheCalipers.co.uk mainly because of the quick turn around time with his scheme whereby I paid full whack for 4 refurbished calipers and a deposit until he received my calipers, he sent me the refurbished calipers, they arrived well boxed and looking lovely:

I then fitted the refurbished calipers and boxed up my tired looking calipers for return to PorscheCalipers.co.uk upon receipt of my calipers I was quickly sent my deposit refund. All in all a cracking service, good communications and an excellent product. My brakes now feel as good as new and the car feels better because of it.

Lacquering over decals isn't necessarily a good thing, you run the risk of air being trapped under the decals which when the calipers are exposed to extreme temperatures allowing the air to in some cases crack the lacquer and spoil the decal.

Hi Fellas'

I sent 6 Calipers of to PRO-CALIPERS.CO.UK 3 weeks ago (28 May to be precise) for next day delivery and just heard back from my couriers that they have been unable to deliver to the address on their website.
I spoke to Thomas the day before I sent them, but now I can't get hold of him either on his mobile or land line.

Has anyone had problems getting hold of him or any other info?

Cheers

Stuart
