Default Street Exhaust Options 964

When I search online for exhaust parts for the 964, I only ever come across items from Fabspeed...

Are there any other options for aftermarket exhaust for the 964?

The car will remain absolutely stock otherwise and will be street/weekend driver only. Just want a bit more noise out of my car... Of course power increases are always welcome as is weight savings.

Most people adapt the standard exhaust system with either a 'Cup Pipe' to replace the long silencer which runs behind the bumper or a 'G Pipe' which replaces the final silencer in the RH side (viewed from behind). Either of these can be done with a 'De-Cat Pipe' as well to replace the catalytic converter (depending on laws in your country).

My car has a G pipe and De-cat. A lot of people say it sounds great but sometimes I feel it is a bit too loud... I am contemplating switching to a Sport Cat with a Cup Pipe and replacing the final silencer or replacing the entire system.

This company also do a good quality complete system:

As do FVD:

AFAIK, A Cup exhaust consists of both a primary and secondary muffler bypass pipes you will need a chip with that setup. Likely going to be very loud.

Hi,

You'll see Fabspeed's name all over the internet for 964 exhaust products because it is one of the models that the company was founded around. We make some really nice products for the 964. If you are looking for a bit more noise, the best option would be a European pre-muffler (resonator) which acts as a catalytic converter delete pipe. If this is not an option for you, maybe a sport catalytic converter is. I would combine a sport catalytic converter or European pre-muffler with a primary muffler bypass pipe for a glorious sounding 964.

You can visit our website for pictures & videos with explanations.

Loved the sound of my 964 with a primary bypass and high flow cat.

Popular exhaust modifications that are straightforward yet effective are to replace the Primary exhaust canister w/ a Cup bypass pipe or to replace the Secondary exhaust canister w/ a G-pipe. Each of these two approaches give different benefits and give the car a different exhaust note. You would only want to do one or the other because both would be stupid loud on a street car.

I love my g pipe (I have the long neck version). Yes, it is a little loud when you get on it, but I personally love it. Plus the down low gains was worth it in my book!

Where do you get this G pipe? Or bypass pipe?

Or can these just be done by any muffler shop with pipes and welding equipment?

I'd want whatever the modification is to be reversible...

Anyone know where to find a 964 exhaust diagram?

Yes, yes! So true. Boy do I love the sound of starting a cold engine, sounds mean and grumpy!

I originally had just a primary exhaust bypass (Cup pipe), and it's a great sound and nice weight savings. After years of just the primary bypass, I purchased a used Fabspeed Cat Bypass (no affil) from a Rennlister who was selling his car... WOW, that was the sound I was really looking for. Also, the cat bypass bolted on with no modifications or gaps, perfect fit. It all works great with my Wong chip (93, Primary and Cat pass program).

It a nice deep, heavy breathing mechanical sound. I also hear more valvetrain music since the cat bypass doesn't have a large shield on it like the stock cat does. Yes it's a notch or two louder than just the just a primary exhaust delete, but definitely not too loud. Just sounds very strong, even my non-car loving friends (99% of my friends) love the sound and give it thumbs up.

For the complete package, drill your airbox also.

Type that into Google (select images) and you'll see tons on options! Multiple diagrams and actual exhaust pieces removed and positioned on the ground in their correct location. Plus, all the various bypass' mentioned above are pictured also.

Have a fabspeed cat-by pass and secondary by-pass pipe (behind muffler) on my C4 coupe and C2 Targa. Sounds perfect, more hp and saves weight. It's all you need...

So when people refer to the secondary exhaust canister... They are referring to the second to last one and the primary canister is the final one before exiting out the back of car?

Or is it the other way around?
