Anyone know where to buy the RS dummy fog lights?

Mikke_Possu 06-19-2013 12:34 PM

I bought mine here:

http://www.rosepassion.com/en/cat/po...housing/P47527

but since these are original Porsche parts, you can buy yours from local Porsche dealer.

Love the look, but don't know if I can do away with my useless fog lights!

Thanks Mikke_Possu

They are nice but the price is a bit shocking, $275 for the housing and around $150 for the lenses!

creaturecat 06-20-2013 12:51 AM

Is the housing different than what is on a stock 964?

ClaytoVR 06-20-2013 01:46 AM

I too was shocked when I went to my local dealer to order them! I think if I actually get rid of my fogs I'm going brake ducts

I agree that housing is "bit" expensive but actually you can install these lenses without housing:

Lens should be about $50 each from Porsche

SuperUser 06-20-2013 08:26 AM

Great news about not needing the housing!

thanks again.

you can diy a grey plastic piece for behind the lences for both sides, which is held inplace by te 2 screws (one you allready in use for the lence and the second hole is covered by the screw from the second hole in the lence and you can put the metal piece porsche uses everywhere on plastic bodyparts to give it thread for a screw). in that way it would look a bit nicer (me thinks) and both screw holes are covered up by screws. 15-30 minutes of work andmaybe 10 dollar in costs.

For those who are interested...
I have a complete (used) set that can go for a lower price.

Due to the many Private messages here some more information:

-They are real 964 RS dummy fog lights
-Set is complete
-There are no cracks
-Due to the age there is some minor pitting in the glasses but still very nice.
-There is NO light in these fog lights!! They are created to reduce weight
