Surely someone has developed a 964 C4 short shift by now that doesn't need to dimple the undertray???

Roomer has it there's away to do it without the dimple tray...

cannot beat a good bit of detailing, I try myself and do it but its no where near as good as the pro's are at it.

Yes the lever is the same, the C4 doesnt use the additional fork that the C2 does, hence its s lightly cheaper than a C2 kit

Cant see there is a way to do it without modding the tray, but I'm intrigued to hear if there is

Hi Frank,

You've helped me spend my money, it's the least I could do

I hope you haven't started drilling your glovebox yet, this is what I fixed mine with. I cut the heads off some bolts then super-glued them into the countersunk positions on the plate to look like they've bolted through.

Then fix 2 strips to the back of the mounting bracket before fixing in position on the glove-box. Each strip can carry 2.5kg's of weight (see packet) so you won't have any issues with it falling off (so long as you degrease the glove-box first). I haven't had any problems and we have some bumpy roads around here.

The good news is that if you ever need to remove the bracket you just need some strong fishing line and slip it behind the bracket, use it like a cheese wire and simply clean the area up

Regarding the short-shift, this is what I left Nick with my car and he said he'll sort it out. When I find out what how he plans to fit it I'll let you know, or you can ask him yourself if you're in a hurry although I know it will be different for C4

+1 on that. The only one I've seen that doesn't require modding is the RUF SS kit.

Ive used these at work and they're great. They can hold quite a bit of weight

If I remember corectly a good strong twist of the part being supported will break the strips free, so a cheese wire may not be needed.

Speaking of Rally Clocks, I couldn't help myslef but buy this twinset :

£150 or offers (Try £130) The seller gets several sets in. The height of the backplate is 60mm so will fit the glovebox panel before the outward crease

I'll probably spray the plate/clips black to blend into teh dash but keep the clockcs silver. No more nails will be the way to go with 4 x 'false' screw heads.

Another (small) wallet buster session!

While they are lovely to look at there is something a bit anachronistic about analog rally clocks in a 1990 car, period correct would be a rally computer like this:



to a geek like me thats pretty cool looking, of course if you put that in your car you would be forced to do some time trial continuity type road rallies to try it out
