Hi everyone, I'm looking at a car and wondering how bad is this rust that is in this picture. To me it looks like its on the engine tray and not on the frame? Can someone confirm? Also, if rust is in this area, where else might rust be on the car? Thanks in advance!

Looks to be on the engine tin (metal around the engine to direct the hot air).

There are lots of places for rust - window frames, headlight buckets, rear tail-lights, a-pillars, etc. Rust never sleeps.

That's not structural rust, at all, so it's not bad. Those pieces are just tin shields that surround the engine.

thanks for the responses Marc / Vandit. i'm happy my assumption was it was just the engine tray and not structural frame. I couldn't find any rust in the usual locations without removing any parts/panels so this definitely makes me feel better.

Thanks to Vandit, i now want to powdercoat EVERYTHING
