can you post a picture of the pipes and where they go? I'd like to have an idea of what I need. do I need one or two?

Why don't you just get the guy's fitting it for you to remove the 10mm ends and fit 12mm ones in their place? They are available on us eBay, you can also get a 12mm fitting with a 10mm threaded hole in the middle so you can just bolt it right up!

because i'm fitting it myself. i am still unclear as to what i need exactly. 12mm fittings for the 993 side (two right? i saw somewhere else only one was needed but that doesn't make sense to me).

and a female or male 10mm side?

or perhaps you can just link me to what you are talking about on ebay. just a 10mm female to 12mm male direct adapter?

like this?

or

i just don't want to get stuck with my brakes apart with the wrong parts (wrong flare, wrong thread) and be on jackstands for a week waiting for proper parts and i don't know exactly what i'm hooking up the MC to with the new line. i guess direct adapters like this would be the easiest solution but less "clean"

You want one like the one from hosewharewhouse but the other way round, this one would step your brake line fitting down from 12 to 10mm you need to step up. You definitely need two. I've got my standard master and servo at work which I'll put up some photos of to give you an idea of what you are up against. The mod is well worth it, my brakes feel much better now! It seems I made my job harder than it needed to be by not using the 964 cast mount and linkage.

THANK YOU BILL!

so.... the bmw part is actually correct and wouldn't use any adapters as it should be a 10mm male bubble on one end and a 12mm male bubble... right? I just ordered a set of those.

ECS tuning has pictures of this line:
