Default Clutch flexi hose

HI All,

Any of you guys replaced the flexi hose with a good quality braided hose?

Easy job to do?

Also do you have any recommendations on which ones are best to use?

Look forward to the replies.

Cheers
David

Sorry, I haven't replace with a braided hose. I have replaced mine with factory originals. How hard is it? Its not too hard but I've always done it in conjunction with changing the clutch slave cylinder. I attach the hose to the slave then attach the other end of the hose to the car and lastly install the slave to the tranny. Its not complicated but it is fiddly and you are working blind when attaching the slave to the tranny.

+1. The factory part works fine. Fit is sometimes an issue with aftermarket parts.

Crack the connection to the hardline before you start remving anything. You'll want to use a decent flare nut wrench. Connection to slave is fairly straighforward to loosen.

Having smaller hands pays dividends on this job.

If you're servicing this line because the current line is failing, then it would be wise to replace the slave cylinder too.

If you replace the slave cylinder, make sure you put a dab of grease on the slave piston.

I've always thought it would be great to run a line from the slave bleed nipple port up through and into the engine bay (I have one from my annular bearing)...simply put a bleed nipple on the end of that line which is clamped someplace handy.

One could bleed the stock setup as I do - standing up with no hassle whatsoever.

^Someone actually has done a remote bleed nipple on the slave before. They moved it into thw left rear wheelwell. That person is on this forum and has posted pics before.
