What about the underbody seal/ sound deadening? Are you going to remove this?

thanks HiWind, will give that a try

Eric, thanks for the idea, the sound deadening has gone, there is none left to remove. At the moment I'm just unbolting parts and cutting off the odd steel bracket here and there. It will get a whole lots more serious later on which is when all the underseal will go.

This weekends efforts

0.987kg HVAC control unit (non-aircon spec.)
0.691kg HVAC heat sink
8.537kg HVAC unit, inc. wiring loom, ducting to bulkhead and drain tubes (non-aircon spec.)
1.555kg front fuse box bulkhead section cut off leaving only the fuse box housing

Weight removed running total 156.00kg or in old money 343.9lbs

I've no way of weighing my car but I'm sure it now must weigh very close to RS weight or maybe slightly lighter. Just to make sure I've still got a list of more parts to be removed.

No lightweight parts have been used (yet) just removed stuff I don't think I need (can always fit back what I miss).

By pulling all the HVAC, what will you now use to control the oil cooler fan? Dashboard switch?

Thanks for pointing that out Rob, I'll be sure to fit a switch but what has the HVAC system got to do with oil cooler fan, is there no thermostat switch on the cooler (or is there one, not looked yet)?

I'm really enjoying this stage of my build as this car just keeps on giving

0.064kg pair heated windscreen washer jets wiring leads
0.161kg excess washer jet tubing after deleting the underwing washer bottle
0.852kg front cat heatshield
1.087kg cat lower aero sheet steel cover

Weight removed running total 158.16kg or in old money 354.3lbs

CCU controls oil cooler fan (off, low, and high) and additional fuel injection while coasting in order to keep heat to the heat exchanger. Obviously, you won't need the heat feature any more, but I have heard reports of removal of the CCU causing fueling issues.

Do you still need these? Mine are currently residing in my basement and can easily be put on a scale.

Keep on stripping

Do away the glass for perspex, doors, wings bonnet, bootlid, door mirrors, loom, carpet, underfloor underseal & paint, exhaust boxes, engine tin wear, wheels for lightweight, are you doing all these?

how funny, that must be light, it's ugly but not as bad as some people using some weird tuning kits.....

Yeah, it must be pretty light, but a little extreme! I've no other pics of that one, although here's a video of a similar Boxster...

Sorry for the thread hi-jack Stephen!

captain, great job !

are you considering replacing some panels with carbon fibre,
like wheel welt, front end plate, I was looking at Rose passion web site and realise how many of those parts you can buy separately, and they are not light but wonder how much strength they really adding to the chassis ,
http://www.rosepassion.com/en/cat/po...d-plate/P43482
I am thinking buying the tools to make carbon parts from Easy composites in UK, but it's quite time consuming
