Track Day Tyres - road use

The most important thing is not to run track day geometry.
I ran the inner shoulders off a new set of PS Cups in 2,500 miles --- before I started doing track days.
Now with road tyres on track I wear the fronts out twice as fast as the rears ... on road geometry.
But on the road (and in this weather) they are fab !
I'd seriously question how much extra you would get our of track tyres on the road ... but I would have a second set of wheels with sticky tyres and apply a compromise geometry set up ...

Waste of time using track tyres on the road, other than getting to/from a track!

I have two sets of wheels/tires. 1st set are 18" CCW wheels with MPSC (236 front and 265 rear) and I love this set on the track. In fact I drive to and from my local track (Limerock in CT) with this set. Now, I also have a backup set of 17" wheels with a new set of Hankook RS3 that I have not yet driven - period. I guess I will test them out in April when DE starts back up. However, I'd be very interested hearing people's opinion of the RS3, especially for track use.
