As of today, accelerometers cost 1873 CHF per unit (that is over 2000 USD!) from independent resellers of factory parts.

A perfect example of gouging by the factory. Hint: an Iphone has 3 of them.

JDS's pricing makes a lot of sense if one needs them.

I finally got mine installed as well - tried to do some serious testing, but tough on normal roads - Here is my impression:

So far, I have tried everything to reproduce my previous issues - the main one being abs kicking in during hard breaking on bumpy surfaces and feeling like the car has no brakes -

I can't find a way to reproduce, yet, any symptoms of my previous problems. So - yeah - if I needed a set of accelerometers, I would go with these before taking a chance on the originals or used on ebay. Good job john....

Somehow I missed hearing about these - I cleaned the sensors on my C4 but would love to replace them... yet another repair to add to the list!

Was there ever any progress on the heater servo?

There was a seperate thread on the heater servo - from someone who has a solution ready. So I am not going to get into that project.

This is (unfortunately) a feature common to nearly all Bosch ABS units of the era (i think even the Prius was recalled for something similar?). The system thinks the wheels are slipping so it cycles the ABS. The problem had something to do with the linear range of the differential equations that were used? If you search around, the NHTSA did some performance tests around 2000-2005'ish. And there are some SAE papers that go into more detail about the issue. Think it might be the same?

Just bumping and old thread to say that after a year of driving with the new accelerometers I haven't had my previous brake issues even once.

Good product.

Same here FWIW. Installed, forgot about them. Not a single issue in the last 5K miles.

Just bumping this thread.

I've got this issue with one of the sensors. The car's currently at JAZ in St. Albans, UK. We're going to try to clean the troublesome sensor first.

However, John mate, if that doesn't do the trick, I do believe that you're going to get a phone call from me within the next week.

BTW, Porsche wanted over £1200 for a replacement.

I want a set of these, but the engine rebuild is first and will probably put me in the poor house.

Default NEW Lateral Acceleration Sensors

Re-bump one year later. Another year has gone by, and still no issues with these. I'm very happy with them.

Any other C4 guys want to chime in and let us know how they are? I'd like to know that it's not just me...lol...
