Possible to replace boots on OEM swaybar links?
 

I'm tearing into the car and noticed the boots on the front sway links are cracked. Is it possible to replace the boots and reuse the links?

Mine had cracks. I didn't find any way to replace the boots separately. I ended up changing the entire drop link on both sides. Only one side was cracked but I changed both for good measure.

Energy Suspension in CA. also has new boots in urethane. Have to check for correct size.
But if the links already have a lot of miles, it would make more sense to replace the lot.

Energy suspension make just boots; they're compliant, so even if you can't wire them down a judicious choice of boot would allow the installation to keep them in place. Probably would be a good idea to remove/regrease once every couple years if you went that route.

I was looking at the website for the ES boots earlier. I'll have to do some measuring once I get home.

On my wife's car we replaced boots for various suspension parts with industrial parts. Just a little cost in labor. If you lubricate the mechanical parts regularly and replace the boots I'm sure they can last quite a bit longer than they normally do. With this procedure no issues ob my wife's Saab. The dealer quoted 2300 USD for the job, most of wich was parts. I got parts for 50USD and paid 200 USD for labor. Done... Been running fine for 2 years now.

I live in a climate that "eats" rubber parts... Incl the boots... FYI: Tires last 2 years only due to UV light breaking them down to unsafe levels on my 964.

I replaced all 4 boots in the front. It fits perfect, but you need to grind a nick for the rod.

You can search till the cows come home but it is hard to find an exact replacement. I have an exact replacement set of 4 that I would sell. I replaced mine a few years ago. They are KOK TE1, Small inner dia 12mm, large outer dia26mm. I ordered them from Australia. When I ordered them, I ordered 2 sets. I still have the extra set in my Porsche bin. If you are really interestd I can take a few pic's of them for anybody interested.

The height dimension (from top to bottom) of the boot is a little bit long. You need to trim or grind the red circle part of the boot. (See photo)
