Default Fellow Rennlister & 1552 visits Magnus Walker in L.A

Hi guys, been missing on Rennlist for a while and missed a lot of exciting talk here on this forum.

Having just come back from the US on a holiday I came across a new on the Porsche Scene fellow Porsche enthusiast named Magnus Walker. It turns out the world is small, as his unit is situated literally next door to my friends home. He was just a friendly neighbour who hangs out with him once a week for a catchup.

Anyway, having spent some time at his unit hanging out with this dreadlocks motorbike rocker. There was more to Magnus than just a fellow Porsche enthusiast. He was non of the special, just a working class, down to earth and very passionate Porsche lover!

Heres a few photos for now.

Knock Knock!! MAGNUS!!!!!! ARE YOU THERE????

You can hear Magnus saying 'whose could this be' in a faint distance, his voice and presence became more apparent as he neared the entrance. 'Welcome' he says with n American Yorkshire accent this must be my 'Scouser' friend with Matt & Brad. I smiled and composed myself pretending I wasn't star struck.

We entered his warm fashion warehouse with posters, mannequins, shelving of fabric and odd hints of Porsche parts lying around casually against the busy garments, cutting tables and garments.

My brother walks fast behind Magnus (hence the shakey picture) whilst I was heavily obvserving around the surroundings.

Do you know how fast my heart was beating when Magnus says 'come in and check my toys'? The door draws open. Our hearts stopped so did the noise. The feeling and knowing a room filled with Porsches pulses in the air.

Magnus casually guides us into his warm, but dark unlit room with odd hints of L.A's daylight peeking through gaps in the garage doors and the skylight on the tall structured ceilings, silhouetting the identifying shapes of Stuttgart's icon shape bodys lined up in uniform.

Our jaws drop as the lights switch on!

More in a bit.

Unfortunately, my friend Matt thinks his neighbour has a problem with a facination with Porsches ha!

No seriously, I didn't think any worse of Magnus, as we all know he was born and bread in Sheffield, went on a American exchange holiday, and BINGO he stayed. Who wouldn't from Sheffield, not that theres anything wrong with Sheffield.

His break came when his success in selling vintage clothing such as worn levi jeans to make more worn in Venice Beach. He never knew how to drive until he was in the US, working hard and saving for a 911, settling for a 911 with a flatnose conversion. Its like anyone, the more money we have the dangerous we can be! His addiction started there!

His SS 3.2 MOTOR in my 72 STR002

This car is beautiful in real life! The amount of detail in this car has been planned and dreamed. On the day a small parcel turned up, the Gold STR stripes came ready to be fitted on this car. It ties in with the gold splash of the wheels too!

Didn't he tell you a fellow 964 Rennlister visited him just weeks before?
I tried to bribe him with beer in exchange for some rare Porsche parts, no chance

The STR wears some beautiful gold GROUP 4 PAG 15 on Hoosier tyres! Gorgious!

Magnus showed us the whole car from top to bottom explaining his proud styling. We examined and drooled

Excuse my friend Brad, he's Instagramin!
