Essentially the same price (actually they are $10K apart but you could probably find a C2S for $60K):
1994 Carrera 4 Widebody at Holts:

-rare (good for values)
-love the looks
-AWD ads maintenance implications...and I hate implications;-)
1998 Carrera S:

-love the looks and is widely considered the best looking 911 (good for values)
-a bit cheaper to maintain
A week ago I was sure about the 964 (I've already owned two) but now...

$58k for a 993 tip is high plus I cannot find anyone who has bought from the dealer...De Laveaga Motors. I would be wary of buying an older Porsche from them. You might ask for a Reenfax here and on the 993 board...there are some locals on the 993 board.
Holt has a good rep...and is also known for being expensive.
Either model is great...I have a 993 for my reasons but there are a lot of 964s, 930s etc that would be great to own.

lol, $14k for a manual transmission is alot of $$.
$72k (manual C2S price) less $58k (tip C2S price) = $14k
Regardless, I don't think any of those cars are worth it, at least to me they're not.
It would have been awesome had there been a factory 964 C2 widebody (like a more docile 3.8RS). I'd rather build a widebody 964 C2 than buy a factory C4 widebody. I'm sure the created car would cost less to create than the purchase price of that C4.

The widebody 4 for me every time!!! I think it looks amazing.
Like 993's too and used to prefer them to 964s but now my attitudes have changed and I prefer the more traditional look of the 4s...

I had a C2S and it was a sexy looking car - that butt was just awesome! Still, these days I'd take the widebody 964 - but maybe that's the influence of Moacur's photography!!

I've owned a 964 C4 wide body; I own a 993 C2S. Most will agree the C2S is a "better" car; ie. more refined and more collectible in the long run. 964's have had their price appreciation in the past few years (especially the MY's 92-94); the 993's are now going through this pricing appreciation. I actually prefer the look of the 964 wide body, as to me it represents the quintessential 911 look however I much prefer the way the 993 drives.
