I'll leave the rear sound question alone as a few people have already mentioned what it could be. As far as it taking a while for the light to go out, I too (as well as others) have this happen and I've noticed that the colder it is the longer it takes. Not a problem in my opinion.

Yep its my first porsche, had a few tvrs previously, the last being a Tuscan which was superb but unfortunately only had 2 seats.
Touque, it's was just just the worry of the system failing. Sure I'd read somewhere that this had happened to someone and he lost brakes and power steering which isn't ideal! But if its quite common will leave it for now and get it checked at service time.

Thanks for the credit for the photo Chris.
It was a pure fluke that we were leaving in that order and I just looked in my mirror and could see nothing but red cars, grabbed the camera and click. Very rare that moments like that happen without being set up. Aslo we had a great day with great weather.
