Rear Center Light Substitution Panel
#78
Well I got the aforementioned piece from Getty. First impression is it's a very robust carbon fiber piece. Very rigid! I'm still deciding whether to just paint to match or cut out the center like the ones from post #1 and #2. I don't have a lot of spare time for projects right now, so plenty of time to decide.

I've struggled with a good substitution panel. I don't care for the reflector look or the porsche script within the panel.
Lately I've been favoring plastidip.

I haven't forgotten. I'm in the middle of a house build and living temporarily in an apartment. Just too much going on to have the luxury of a car project right now. I still fully intend on using that substitution panel; by the time I get around to it, I may add a new lighter weight rear bumper panel to the job at the same time since painting will be involved.

Not sure if anyone has come across this outfit, they make a whole host of lightweight parts...

Bit pricey though!

just saw this over at Pelican:
si Banker says: "I used a piece of 30 gauge aluminum . It is made out of two pieces of material and welded together. I did it this way because the part has a compound curve. I used a slip roller to put the curve in it and used the same mounting points. I also put a piece of rubber edging along top and bottom. I only plane on using it as a short term replacement while I look for a used reflector."

I'm not keen on a mesh replacement unless it has a purpose so presumably you have to drill holes in the crossmember behind to actually ventilate the engine bay. Has anyone done this???

Is the red RS one held on by scotch tape?
So forgetting the reflectors and concentrating on the grill / mesh replacements - Who's actually done this???
