Happy Friday - Plans for the weekend?
The Fall colors are in full swing in New England. My GF and I took a nice long drive last Sunday. See photos below. This Saturday, I will continue with my engine build. In addition, a friend is bringing his Jeep Liberty over for new disk brakes, pads, an oil change and general inspection. Its his wife's car and he said its making a grinding noise when stopping. I suspect the pads are worn.
For everyone in the path of the Hurricane Sandy, be safe. I have my generator ready, if the winds knock out our power.
What are your plans?

We're at peak foliage too, Hitting a Cars and Coffee in West Chester PA Saturday morning, then nailing down whatever can be blown away by Hurricane Sandy. We got a 20kw generator installed this spring. When it kicked on for the first time we were giddy and giving each other high fives. We once lost power for a week in October a few years back. It wasn't fun roughing it, but the weather was mild, so it could have been a lot worse. Spent this past week tuning up the wood chipper (5.5HP Tecumseh) and a neglected snow thrower (11HP Tecumseh) I just bought on Craigslist. 8 years old and the oil was never changed. The old oil stained the dipstick gray. Now they are both running like a top. I love air cooled engines.

I've got the day off today to putter and head to Virginia tomorrow to drive VIR Sun/Mon with Chin.
Should be fun, my first time at that track so I'll tape the map to my steering wheel so I know which corner I'm at.

I am flying down to the Mojave again to shoot night photos in a junkyard under the full moon. I try to do it nowadays twice a year. The fall is great as the desert is still warm, but we get thunderstorms. You never know what you'll find in this yard... This is at ~2 AM with the full moon behind the RV. This one was a prop in a TV show shot last spring.
There is a PushMe-PullU 928 in the yard (2 fronts welded back to back at the doors)... I'll try to get a shot of it.

Those are some awesome shots, sounds like everyone has a packed weekend. Unfortunately for me, I have to head to Michigan and take some docks out, hoping the rain stays away.

the weekend is for catching up. I was in LA last weekend for my sister's wedding, then I was in Vegas all week for a conference. Got home at 10am this morning after taking a red eye home.

Lots to do my 964 project this weekend:
Install full carpet kit (RS) which I imagine will take a full day (with breaks).
Finish rebuilding and painting the 996 calipers that are going on the car
Change the A/C drier
Change fuel pump
If I can accomplish all these items by Sunday evening, I'll be jazzed!

Rob - My wife is jealous of the covered bridges in your area.
Tom- I love your photo session idea. Wow, 2 AM...
Marc - Enjoy VIR, what a meaty course...wish I lived a bit closer (50 miles), so I could stop by and take some pics of your car at the track.
It's kids weekend at our house...my nephew and niece are spending the weekend with us. No Porsche plans, but given that we'll have so many kids in the house I may have to sneak out for a bit...

Dropping the engine to fix "replace" the Diffy gears. I'll work between the few raindrops predicted, in fact, I may have a couple extra days at home bailing out a new basement swimming pool.
