this month's evo has an article on singer, where they basically cover the entire car in drooling saliva...but the singer people say the 964 is the perfect car for backdating-still the old shape, but with a great engine/chassis/gearbox...
sadly, they don't reveal their panel source...

I'm saying SC or Carrera because my ideal backdate would not need many of the features that come along with a 964 chassis (power steering, ABS, air bags, OBD systems, etc.). But this is just my list of wants, I can see that most of the people on this thread have other ideas and I respect that. That's the great thing about hot rodding Porsches, lots of different directions to go.

who actually recommended GRP over CF as easier to work. I understand the parts are never a perfect fit so work needs to be done, and CF too stiff to fiddle around.
On the other hand, if you can get the supplier for Singer, I'm more "let's cut the whining and order"!!!

it seems to me there's very little stuff made for the 964-am i wrong?

Best stuff is underneath though - 993 3.8RS spec engine with cup cams, LSD, SMF, 6-speed G50/03 with short shifter,964RS brakes, etc. - and its 100kg lighter than stock...

Love the pictures in this thread 
...although I have to say I've really come to like the original early cars especially with their eager small engines and light weight bodies. Especially when prepared for rally or race.

i think my favourite backdated cars would be these 3. Unfortunately not based on the 964 platform but nice nonetheless
1. Black RSR replica - built by Sportswagen in UK - circa £85k for the build
2. This yellow RSR by early 911s.co.uk built off back of an 85 Supersport - approx £50k built
3. The red ST rep built by Magnus Walker

i've been speaking to a mechanic who tells me that backdating a 964 is much more expensive that using a pre-89 car...does anyone have any experience with this?
those rsr's are amazing....
